Thanks Hostile :)

It might not look like much happened..........Got everything to fit and work now. Toolboxes and a few other small details left to fix. Next time i take a photo of this one it's with paint job done :bounce:

I just ran across an idea for your *Really Heavy* hauls that should have a push-truck.

http://www.wheelsacademy.eu/rchobby/...ummytruck.html

Except continue the steering / drawbar through an opening behind the pintle, so pintle pin is fulcrum so it looks and tracks more realistic

Thanks for the idea Frizzen. I've been working on and off to make a fully funktional steering system. Three puller's one Beam/other load rig, and three pusher trucks. So far i'm close to happy with the puller trucks, tiny bit left to adjust. Hoping i can get some continuous time space to work on that project. Dropping 5 minutes here and 30 minutes there it's just to complicated and hard to remember where i left off. And while waiting for paint to dry o the shop truck i'm starting this one.......

That's a LOT of winch motor. Looks like the motors I've got in the Bruder D11 conversion, for the drive motors.

Sounds like lil cat need a good Dr. It's sad when things aren't working like you was hoping. I'm sure it will do get fixed and happy play time will come around.
This motors needs attention.....the amount of grease in them are minimal....so i recommend put some more of that in before using them.

skeeter 02-06-2018 04:37 PM

Re: KH Beam Hauler

Wowzers! 4 of the big donnagers, you'll be doing some serious winching with them.

IDK how well the motors work....yet. I have them bolted onto the Bruder D11 conversion. EVENTUALLY, I'll get that project off my project bench(ES) & get it working.

BIGFORD I'm GLAD to hear that they are trouble free motors.

BO, THANKS fir the tip. I hadn't thought to open them to look. I definitely will be checking them, BEFORE placing the machine into service!

Interesting truck indeed.
Can you lay a rule or caliper on those right angle motors? I've been hunting
for a pair but they cant be any more than 40mm wide when placed back to back to fit down into my little project I was foolin with.

Thanks ittigger ;o)
Now that's a very good question........wish i had a good answer to give. I like the CTI actuators, so i'm trying them. i also looking if there could be a hydraulic alternative. Drive motors might go in the wheels.......i got to ask how you like the ones in your haul trucks. I'll make the front part of the frame in steel sheets for adding weight and strength....thinking i'll pop a line of battery cells inside.......not much room for things.

Nice one Bo! Ive always loved graders. Not enough around!

Lil Giants 03-08-2018 04:45 PM

Re: KH Beam Hauler

Don't need the power of hyds for this type of machine & the CTI's will save you so much space. Do they each require an esc to operate? Maybe the actuonix would simply things even more

The brushed motors work great & only need one esc to run 4 motors. The rpm on 3s is about 110. The brushless ones each need an esc for each motor & travel 10-15% slower, more expensive too, a bit shorter in length.

Good ideas / advice right there. I need a lot of power and low speed when grading or push with front blade or ripper in the rear. Have to do some torque test, it's a bit of dozer power needed to the wheels. I had one idea that required the hood to be extended a bit in length. a two speed gearbox and chain drive between the wheels like the real ones. well back at it and we see.....
