Thanks Hostile :)
It might not look like much happened..........Got everything to fit and work now. Toolboxes and a few other small details left to fix. Next time i take a photo of this one it's with paint job done :bounce: |

Re: KH Beam Hauler
I just ran across an idea for your *Really Heavy* hauls that should have a push-truck.
http://www.wheelsacademy.eu/rchobby/...ummytruck.html Except continue the steering / drawbar through an opening behind the pintle, so pintle pin is fulcrum so it looks and tracks more realistic https://flic.kr/p/VGSYs7 |

Coming along nicely Bo

Re: KH Beam Hauler
Bo, what axles are you using for the powered steering axles? Do you have a link that you can post fir where you source them? I need to get one fir a build that I have upcoming in the not too distant future.

Re: KH Beam Hauler
That's a LOT of winch motor. Looks like the motors I've got in the Bruder D11 conversion, for the drive motors.
|
Re: KH Beam Hauler
Exactly skeeter they look like my china kat drive motors
Too. Can't wait to see what kind of big dog you building bo-dog |

Looking forward to see this creation. :).

The track motors ARE the only thing on the kat that
Haven't caused me trouble |

This motors needs attention.....the amount of grease in them are minimal....so i recommend put some more of that in before using them. |
Re: KH Beam Hauler
Wowzers! 4 of the big donnagers, you'll be doing some serious winching with them.
IDK how well the motors work....yet. I have them bolted onto the Bruder D11 conversion. EVENTUALLY, I'll get that project off my project bench(ES) & get it working. BIGFORD I'm GLAD to hear that they are trouble free motors. BO, THANKS fir the tip. I hadn't thought to open them to look. I definitely will be checking them, BEFORE placing the machine into service! |
Re: KH Beam Hauler
Interesting truck indeed.
Can you lay a rule or caliper on those right angle motors? I've been hunting for a pair but they cant be any more than 40mm wide when placed back to back to fit down into my little project I was foolin with. |
Re: KH Beam Hauler
Opsi.....Opsi Didn't tell you all of it....Did i ?:D
Two winches forward. Two Backwards. and two awkward.... P.S. Steve /9W Monighan i will do that pronto :) |

Re: KH Beam Hauler
Looks like motor is out some from the back of case making them not touch each other. Whats the link to get some of these?

Re: KH Beam Hauler
CTI actuators? Gear motor on each wheel?
|

Now that's a very good question........wish i had a good answer to give. I like the CTI actuators, so i'm trying them. i also looking if there could be a hydraulic alternative. Drive motors might go in the wheels.......i got to ask how you like the ones in your haul trucks. I'll make the front part of the frame in steel sheets for adding weight and strength....thinking i'll pop a line of battery cells inside.......not much room for things. |
Re: KH Beam Hauler
Nice one Bo! Ive always loved graders. Not enough around!
|
Re: KH Beam Hauler
Don't need the power of hyds for this type of machine & the CTI's will save you so much space. Do they each require an esc to operate? Maybe the actuonix would simply things even more
The brushed motors work great & only need one esc to run 4 motors. The rpm on 3s is about 110. The brushless ones each need an esc for each motor & travel 10-15% slower, more expensive too, a bit shorter in length. |
Re: KH Beam Hauler

Yes a grader is No 1 on my list for sure. a Ford might be outside the box......but i was outside the box all my life so i go with that........a different machine mathers too ;o) |

Good ideas / advice right there. I need a lot of power and low speed when grading or push with front blade or ripper in the rear. Have to do some torque test, it's a bit of dozer power needed to the wheels. I had one idea that required the hood to be extended a bit in length. a two speed gearbox and chain drive between the wheels like the real ones. well back at it and we see..... |

Getting the Globe in to a multi tool. Beam Haule/Push Pull truck.

Re: KH Beam Hauler
Be aware, making "multi-trucks" might lead to the need to downsize the overall fleet ;)
