Re: CAT 374D L

That's beautiful! For not having actual prints, your Cat 374D L looks highly accurate. I really like the engine bay louvers, and the way you painted the black stripe right over the top. It looks great. Very scale and realistic.

Great progress!

Did you add two hydraulic motors for swinging or what are these things on the last picture?

I wish they were swing motors, but unfortunately they are just decoration.

Got something done today:)

Looking great Ari! I thought I could see a little weld under the top cab guard. How did that go for you?

Welding the cab was a struggle and I managed to destroy several parts while doing that. It's welded now, but I'm not totally happy about the results:mad:

Here's today's work so far:)

Nice job on the interior! and everything else of course!

At least if you ruin some parts while welding you can make them again exactly the same since you have cnc. I do understand your frustration though!

Kevin, you might try soldering it with normal tin, it melts at lower temperature and doesn't melt the brazing. You need a gas torch and you must get all the oil of the seam.

Got the cab painted:)

Re: CAT 374D L

I made a simple quick coupler for the 374. I made so that it fits to the original bucket with out modification. It probably isn't correct CAT style but will see how it holds up:o
I haven't the correct hydr. lines for it yet, so I've only test it with air and it seems to work.

Re: CAT 374D L

Wow Ari, beautiful machining as always! I like the fact that it is very low profile. It seems that some of the couplers are quite large and must effect the buckets breakout force.
