Re: RCLogger
Greg, you should add a Cat decal to the left side of the arm. :)
Other than that, looks very nice! :D |
Re: RCLogger
Thanks Joe I have built another undercarrage the same as the one on the log loader. Not sure if it going to be a excavator or log loader yet.... It was a spring day here, sun, showers changing every 5 minutes.
Here is another video of it working for the first time.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUbK_...ature=youtu.be |

What's the next build. I really enjoy your builds. I am trying to build a dozer like the one you built. Hope it turns out. Keep up the great work

Re: RCLogger
wow looking good Greg and great videos too, your next project should be a 330 excavator for me :) yet again another awesome build by yourself
|
Re: RCLogger
Fantastic build, I love watching your videos. Actually to tell the truth somehow I came across your videos on youtube a few months ago and they are one of the main reasons I got hooked on this hobby. So again thanks for sharing.
One question, Can you give any more info on how you connect the undercarriage to the excavator? I am looking at your photos in post #318 on page 17, but I still dont understand how you have that setup. Thanks |

http://servocity.com/html/spg785a_top_mount.html The servo city drive I get at 6 rpm, then invert it, the gear is mounted solid to the undercarrage. greg |
Re: RCLogger
Thank you so much for sharing that part, I have been scratching my head for quite a while on how to build the turntable. That part is perfect.
Thanks again |
Re: RCLogger

Re: RCLogger
Looking good Greg!
Going to try aluminum welding next? What will be the reach at ground level with this hoe? For example, my JD850 has a reach of 1400mm. |
Re: RCLogger
looking great going to be a beast Greg ... when are you going to build one for me ?
|
Re: RCLogger
Hey Greg... I know someone who has a small TIG that they'd like to sell... It does Aluminum...:D
|
Re: RCLogger
Greg I read in your post that you use teflon for the track chain to slide on. Could you elaborate a bit. Are the rollers that show just the outside profile of a roller with the teflon mounted to the track frame?
Thanks Terry |

Re: RCLogger
Congratulations Greg and Lou!
Got any extra copies to pass out with the feature spotlight?! :D |
Re: RCLogger
Thanks for the kind words guys.
Fred it was your great builds and you who recommended us. We are not in the same legue as you, so I hope they don't have any close up photo's... We have not seen or read the magazine as of yet, so I hope the information is close to correct.... The person writing the story was not sure the difference between a logging truck and a dump truck... hahah Hey Joe I thought I would up size my excavator, I am in your legue now...... http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...02/June005.jpg |
Re: RCLogger
It has been 25 years since I operated excavators or hyd log loaders. It was wild, I rented this machine and had them switch the swing so it is the same as my models, they can do this with the flick of a switch. I got on the hoe and operated it like I was running my models, almost like a PRO ! LOL They are almost the same price as the models as well, $25 bucks per hour.... Sure can move a lot of dirt in a hour...

Re: RCLogger
Ah man, I was excited because I thought that you bought it!

Re: RCLogger
Reg Here is a update now that the rains have arrived and I will be spending less time in the construction area outside.
Rob and Lou were good sports and helped move and screen all the material I dug up with the hoe. I poored a cement pad, so there was alot of dirt to move. In the attached video you can see how much dirt was screened.. Pretty much the whole pile.. The boys wanted union wages for there work, but I only pay with beer and soda's... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FuGx...1&feature=plcp |
