Claus-

YES it does have a removable gooseneck. With a little work you can make it remote detach.

Go with the Rc4wd unless you can find a used pmd one
It's only $$$

Re: bigfords trucks

I emailed RC4WD this week, I want one of those lowboys too, they said they should be back in stock in a couple weeks. Also wanting the DXR2 dozer to have something to haul! Bigford, you're killing me!

Re: bigfords trucks

BTW, RC4WD told me the DXR2 is too heavy for that lowboy and you can't use the trailer for that dozer. That dozer weighs 57 pounds, what do you think they would say about your dozer???

bigford 09-10-2016 10:04 PM

Re: bigfords trucks

That's funny!!! D11 is only 90 pounds empty

Probably just playing it on the safe side telling customers not to load em too much. I wouldn't stand on mine but I think it's strong enough to carry 100 lbs loads with it's aluminum frame. My 4200 must weigh pretty close to what Eagle's dozer weighs with my steel counter weight. I have no where to store the 4200 so it sits on the trailer all the time without any issues just had to change out the tire foams for some harder ones as the one's that come with the trailer are far too soft to handle heavier loads.

Claus 09-10-2016 11:05 PM

Re: bigfords trucks

On a side note can somebody explain this to me? In the description of the DXR2 Dozer it says;

Dead Weight: 26kg / 57LBs
Total Mass Load: 37kg / 82LBs

Is "Total Mass Load" Shipping Weight with the Crate, Dozer, Radio etc?

Re: bigfords trucks

How do you have the steering set up on the radio? Truck on one stick, trailer on another? Can you set that channel up on an exponential curve? It looks like it's got way to much initial steering input. Anyway it looks really cool!

bigford 09-11-2016 06:13 PM

Re: bigfords trucks

Left stick throttle right stick steering. right knob
Trailer steering.

TRUCKMAKER 09-11-2016 06:50 PM

Re: bigfords trucks

Have you tried it on the sticks? I can see steering some thing like that with a knob would be difficult no matter what.

bigford 09-11-2016 07:02 PM

Re: bigfords trucks

I want to try it tied into the tractor steering

TRUCKMAKER 09-11-2016 07:38 PM

Re: bigfords trucks

I thought of that too but when the tractor turns a corner the trailer can't turn until it gets to the corner and with a long beam the tractor will be around the corner and straight in most cases before the trailer gets there. Even if you could program some sort of delay in the radio for the trailer steering it would change for ever different length load you haul.

bigford 09-11-2016 08:47 PM

Re: bigfords trucks

I hear ya! As it it your always correcting the rear trailer
I'll try the left stick throttle/steering right stick trailer steering next weekend

That's a ridiculously long trailer, I love it! I'm pretty sure I saw the video on YouTube yesterday. Looks like a geometric nightmare trying traverse corners.

Re: bigfords trucks

Can we get a little more details on the trailer-truck on the rig with the 2x4, or a few more pictures? (Needs an I-beam or a windmill blade)

You might be able to run an adjustable servo delay like they run for sequencing like gear retract doors, and it still wouldn't work well due to speed. But life would probably be easiest to go more realistic and just run a seperate radio and have someone else on the tiller vehicle if you could borrow them.

Re: bigfords trucks

So Mark, now that you have playing around with motor, transmissions and GRUs, what is your favorite setup?

bigford 11-11-2016 01:23 PM

Re: bigfords trucks

Stock motor and pmd 4:1 pulled rw's haul truck and d11
The 55t and the Rc4wd works good too.
Stock motor and the spi blew up at brookville. Couldn't
Handle the weight.

Interesting, I just noticed your Carson trailer does not have the slight beaver tail just ahead of the ramp. Did Carson make a change in design or did you cut yours off?

Hey Brandon,

That is the Carson trailer that Ric sells. If you look at this photo along with the one I posted above they both have the beavertail. It doesn't really matter, I was just curious as to if He cut His off or what happened.

Oh my bad your right I just noticed the beaver tail at the end. Probably makes for easier loading without.
