Nice addition!
The details on the plate makes it stand out.

Well you're just on fire now!

I can see problems with that design with the holes not lining up just right & some outside interference (your hand) needed to make sure it locks fully into place... somebody I know has designed and built the ultimate failsafe coupler, maybe he'll share his secret with you for a 100% hands free lock into place every time. You're on the right track though, but you just need to redo a small part of it. ;)

I tried make it so that when I crab the bucket to the coupler and twist it, the holes line up automatically, but of course I'm open to improvements :)

Wow, very nice coupler Ari, that's the same way the new Premacon coupler locks, should work just fine! Great job!

Well I was giving props to what you did Kalle, your coupler works flawless... I've done it hundreds of times now and no hand adjustments to get it to fit & lock or release. The only thing I'd consider changing is going to hyd actuated for a quicker change & no worries of the timed esc to get out whack and burn out the actuator motor.

A work of art and simply gorgeous, well done.

I got the coupler working with hydraulics. Here's a video of the test:

Works perfect! Thank´s for the video, Ari! I agree with all the other guys: This has been an incredible build. I really enjoyed following it.

However, as said in the video comment - the bucket is already dirty, so where´s that video? :D:D

Regards
Stefan

Ahh, thanks Joe, good to hear it still works for you! :) I would have gone hyd. if i had the tools/knowledge.

Ari: Are you going to route new hyd lines for the coupler on top of the stick, under the cylinder?

A mighty fine machine you have built yourself Ari, anybody who didn't know you built it would swear it must be an EC-M model.

Now it just needs some fine tuning in the radio so the valves aren't so sensitive/jerky. ;)

Re: CAT 374D L

Ari Outstanding build I'm near the end of my RH400 mining shovel build with hydraulics for cylinders so I know what you have gone through. Now you next problem is what's next, as like you and many others the building is the most fun.

I took the finished 374 out to take some photos before it starts to snow:)

I'd like to thank all of you guys for your interest and compliments to this project.
It feels some how empty not having anything construction machine related going on right now:( ,so now I must decide what next, what would you guys like to see;)

I would like to see you build a haul truck to match the excavator. I think you could put one together quite quickly with your skills!

Re: CAT 374D L

I'd love to see a Cat 637 or 657 scraper.

Re: CAT 374D L

I second the haul truck idea. CAT 777?

Azonic 11-24-2013 11:45 AM

Re: CAT 374D L

Amazing end result!

How about a Ponsse harvester or forwarder? Match good with "Made in Finland"! :)

Re: CAT 374D L

CAT D11 or a Scraper or paossibly a 777 with your skills anyone of these is possible

Espeefan 11-24-2013 02:22 PM

Re: CAT 374D L

Another fine masterpiece Ari. The 374D looks great outside in the natural sunlight.

How about you tackle a Caterpillar 527 skidder next? That would be something totally different from what you've been building.

Lil Giants 11-24-2013 05:30 PM

Re: CAT 374D L

A haul trk would be a positive asset to compliment your track hoe, but...

..just like your 14M grader, nobody else has done one of these yet! And with your skills to build, no one will do a better job than what you're capable of. This project should keep you busy for a year again. :D

Re: CAT 374D L

My vote would be for a Cat 657B. With the twin motor setup you'd be able to power both axles and really move some dirt!

Re: CAT 374D L

Great job , Ari . A 657 would be my next suggestion . as Joe stated ,not many motor scrapers attempted . thus the reason for me building the IH 433 pay scraper.

Wow, that's cool, but it sounds like it has some gear mesh problems at times.

That was quite an animal it had a lot of detail. He did not build that over night. There is quite a bit going on with it a very nice build. They keep getting better and better. Ed

Wo'nderful skills to bulle thismasterpiece ! Contrats.

I'd vote for the cat 974C, the meanest looking track loader ever built :D

Wow what a fantastic beautifully engineered model,

Does anyone know the dipper/stick width of the 374d where it connects to the bucket,

Thanks

The tires are from Premacon, but the wheels are self made.
