Just watched the loader videos - proof is always in the pudding and the pudding looked lovely - very good detail and it moved like a pro. Very good work - I look forward to your next build.

Re: RCLogger

Greg,
I am looking into building a dozer, and I want to use your method for the tracks as they appear to be the most cost effective and relaible method I have seen. I have sourced the aluminum for the tread, but I cannot find a place to purchase the #35 chain with the k-5 on every other link. I have found the parts at grainger where I could assemble the chain link by link, but you mentioned you had a source that would make it in 12' lengths. Would you be willing to share that supplier. Thanks

Thanks for the interest and comments. Add some decals, but not happy with them.. Any ideas on decal making ? / ?

Speedpro Signs did the decals up for my Volvo and it was pretty cheap. I'm guessing that you want to make your own though...

Nice work! No shortage of reach height, that's for sure! In your video, I can see the trailer looks like it's bottomed out on the suspension! At 20 lbs, I can see why. Looks like you've got yourself another great home built model.

I to I'am a rc logger and I was wondering where I could get a log loader

Re: RCLogger

Glen great build and it has a lot of reach to get over sides with out having to raise the bucket back up before you pull away, that's the best part. Ed

As far as I know there is no distributor building logging equipment.

Attached is the log grapple I am building

Good work Greg!

Do you have quick disconnects for the hyd lines?

RCLogger 03-07-2013 12:10 PM

Re: RCLogger

No quick disconnects Joe
But the bailer cylinders and lines fit in the front part of the machine out of site when I have the bucket on..

Re: RCLogger

Wow that was quick. Looks great and nice combo of materials. Be interesting to see how the styrene holds up on the arms. Did you get the mix to work right?

Re: RCLogger

Wow, that looks awesome. I cant wait to see it work.

Quick question for you. At your pivot points, do you just drill a hole and insert a bolt, or do you press in some kind of a bushing to prevent wear over time??

Thanks

Re: RCLogger

Great looking loader!

It is smooth, has good reach (both top and bottom) good cycle speed, great drive speed...

Very well done.:)

I don't add a bushing, if it starts to wear out I over size the hole and if it wears that out I would add a bushing...

Nice to see it working Greg, no lack of power or performance. Weather looks good too! Trees and grass already green? What's next to build since you blew through that build? A feller buncher?

Re: RCLogger

Love the videos of your equipment working, that loader is fantastic. I hope to some day be able to build a quality fleet of equipment like yours. Thanks for the answer on the bushings and all of the other information that you pass on to us here on the forums. It is a real help and makes starting one of these pieces a whole lot less intimidating.

THANKS FOR THE REMINDER LOU !!!!! I had to get a calculator out to figure that one out, it has been 25 years since I operated a log loader :o Where has the time gone ! And six minutes would be on the fast side for a load..

I've found a few apps now for the Kindle Fire HD (or Android). And it was free! These are simple scale converters. Just type in the dimensions in ft., in., mm, cm or whatever you want to use and get them converted to what ever size you need.
The one I have is called MODEL SCALER. Makes it super easy to figure out.

Greg

I thought I had all the answers but I don't, ihave a RH400 shovel built but having problems with the hyraulic valves. Where do you get your valves you use in your radio controlled models, please help. I'm another B.C. modrl builder in Delta. Built and running Terex TS14 scraper, Terex MT5000 rear dump. need to control 4 separate double acting sets of cylinders
