Lou, you're making great progress. Can't believe how much you've accomplished since last Sat. If you keep that up it'll be moving dirt before Christmas. Well maybe not, I got the bad news our goodies are out of stock and won't be shipped till the 20th Dec. Anyhow great work and keep the pictures coming.

Wow! Nice work Lou! You have been busy, that's for sure. I am amazed at the pieces you have been able to make with such a small cnc. Are you pushing to have this done for the show in CR? Do you know a solid date for that yet?

Thanks .Yeh it does take some plannig .thanks for sharing your great ideas as well...so far I only had a few screw ups..The neck is very full up front with not alot of room..two servos and the drive system..Its working but not perfectly ..try and get some drivetrain test video up..

Jerrrett ..not Quite yet..lol..All the details are gona take some time but I am almost ready for hydros ..still a few bugs to work out ..I am not sure if the big 1/4 scale servo is gona be quite strong enough for the atriculation yet after some short testing ..may have to go hydro ..On the plus side that would make more room in the engine compartment

Thanks for looking

Re: Logging & Construction Equipment

I did some testing on the drivetrain ..sorry no vids yet but soon ..and had some difficulty with the steering and binding ..I ended up making a bearing block and seems to work much better ..The o-ring drive belt i was using at first was slipping too much and putting too much tension on the whole assembly so i dug in my parts box and foung a nice little tooth belt and cogged pullies..Much better ..Having the front wheel drive makes things way more complicated and wheel tilt as well as having the whole asembly ossilate and steering was a challenge to make work ok ..still not perfect but it does work..

Re: Logging & Construction Equipment

Wow Lou, nice progress. I can just imagine that the 6 wheel drive is probably twice as complex than the 4 wheel dive would be to build. Your doing a jam up job on this and your CNC work. Ready to see it work.

I ran Robs blade at ST Louis last year it was blast. Your going to have fun with this.

As always when I look at your builds I say to myself I have a ways to go to meet your projects quality. One question I think I see 2-56 hex head bolts, my Pacfic Fastner source ended only 4-40 now where do you get yours

Great job Lou. You are raising the bar for the rest of us Island guys for sure. I am looking forward to seeing this at the CR show!

Re: Logging & Construction Equipment

Thanks for all the great comments guys

Earl Yes lots of 2/56 on this build ..Micro fasteners and Festener express have them in stock ..a little cheaper at fastener express and I found 2/56 x 14 there as well where micro fasteners doesnt have those ..I really wish the head pattern was a little smaller and more scale on the 4/40 in stainless ..I have seen some in brass at a link for train supplies that Rob sent me ..should give them a try as well ..Rob said his prices were good too .. http://www.americanmodeleng.com/id41.html

Reg did you say Bar ....Im trying to stay away from bars ..lol..Seriously ..Im trying to keep upto you these day ..Your a building machine ..lol..Should be at least functionalby the show in CR

Re: Logging & Construction Equipment

T-n-T-Lou-great work on a very complicated model. These look like the toughest to build out of all the construction models. Good job!!

Re: Logging & Construction Equipment

Lou
Just thought I would give you this site for 2-56 Hex Head bolts looks like about a quarter of the price of American Model 2-56 SS X 3/8 is $6.10 per 100 http:www.microfastners.com/home.php?cat=576.
Thanks for pointing out sites to look for.

Earl
