WOW What happened to the summer, the calender says it is September now and Iam thinking work is going to slow down and some modeling can get done.
I have not had much time to keep up with the thread, it will take some time to catch up. I see there is some very nice models being built and also working.

Here is a few more photo's of the truck show last weekend.

Joe ! Out of practice, forgot to take video ! !

Had some time this past weekend and started on a winter project, I found some material at the hardware store that was interesting. I am using it to make a track pad that is a cross between a excavator pad and a dozer pad....

Now where were you on that one when I built the tracks for my 955. Haha just kidding Greg! That has a good look to it though. Looks a lot like the track pads on our real 955.

What section of the hardware store was that in?.......

Greg, you've been busy. The cross section looks real good. How much did you have to remove from the top bar to fit it in. And Reg it's in the flooring section, but it's too late he bought it all.

Hey guys
The pad top and bottom are Dura-Alunimum from building supply stores. I just happend to see the groves alun and thought that it may add to the pads... It comes in 8 foot lengths.
Joe: I am starting on new undercarrages for hyd log loader. Still have to figure out how to build a CAT 527 skidder and be able to fit everything into it !

Here is the process I used to make the pads.

Your last one was made from laminated balsa wood, how's it holding up?

Re: RCLogger

RC Logger, what kind of mill do you have? I'd love to see you build a Cat 527! You've already got the high drive tracks figured out. The trailer looks strong. Does the Tamiay semi truck suspension bottom out with the weight of the dozer on the trailer?

Greg nice work on the trailer and the track pads. The pads really stand out. Ed

Joe : I had the excavator on the wood one last year and was sure it would break in half, but it didn't. I thought I shouldn't push my luck and get busy and build a new one. :)

This is the mill I have, still a learning process though.. http://www.busybeetools.com/products...ADOUT-MT3.html

I have been looking at the Cat 527 for a few years now, but the size is small and it would be hard to fit the hyd into. May have to go electric and then it would be fine...;) The truck is bottomes out when the Cat is on the trailer as the Cat is in the 25 plus pounds area...

I have got the bulk of the construction done on the new lowbed, just have paint and trim left to do. Attached is two short video's loading equipment, I think it will get the job done..
