First one is my favorite. I didn't see him do it but Mike dumped a load of dirt out front of RCP metalworks. I saw the pile afterwards sitting there and had a good laugh. so happy he caught a pic of it:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Hey Bigford no big NS units available in this scale . What I'm running is two foot narrow guage trains . Standard guage would be Hugh and massive I'll figure out the size later

ihbuilder 08-08-2016 07:59 AM

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!

Mike , 1"(1:12) scale is so close to our truck scale . 4.75" track gage I'll have to put a truck beside one for comparison .

Great get together Mario . I guess it's good I stayed home and kept the pit hog away .

In the local newspaper again.:D

http://www.saultstar.com/2016/08/07/big-time-fun

Also had a Local TV reporter and camera man, just waiting for that to be posted sometime this week. Can't wait to see how that turns out.
The camera guy had a big grin on his face the entire time. I heard him say to the reporter, " I am getting such killer footage! Best shoot I've ever been too "

Really , really upset I couldn't get there Mario!! This summer has been one of the busy ones for me in a long time. Moving out, moving in, ect,, and work has been busy too!! Lately just a couple hours of relaxing is a treat for me!! Haven't ran more than a couple batteries this whole summer!! Really missed being up to see you and the awesome set up you have!! Should have shipped up the dozer for ya!! I'll get up there next time Mario!! I just couldnt get the time, and needed more than a half day to play with two days driving.

Great pictures supermario and looks like a great time for everyone!! I kept looking for a giant unpainted mining truck and a big D-11 but after reading cooper's post I get it. This could turn into something special in the future. Great job!! You do need more construction equipment.

It was going to be a bigger pile. I used my truck and purchased 1 cuyd at a time . First load I wheelbarrowed into the back yard, the next in the driveway. Was going to go for another yard but by then the sun was high and so was humidex so I went and sat in the shade instead.
Your more than welcome and would love it if you could join us in the future. It's 362 days away. :D:bounce:

Do you know how much you cost the Canadian military in preparations for the Canadian invasion? Do you realize how many canoes were built for this?

Well, could have prevented all this if you would have told me about your plans to buy and move into a new house:cop: I would have reminded you of the effect and ramifications of such a choice :p

There's always next year and there will definitely be a bigger and better next year event. :)

Wait a minute......Did you say you'd ship me the dozer?......oh such a tease! :lol::lol:

Sorry I never mentioned Mike, once I realized Cooper , Mark and Bo couldn't make it I figured it wasn't a project that needed doing....besides, I like the shade in Foxville, the driveway is a little hot to be sitting there running a hoe.:)

Thanks Tom. It was a great time and I agree, this could become something special for sure. I tested the waters and feeling pretty confident right now that maybe, just maybe this could be like a northern Indy type gathering.:D
And of course open to all such as those in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois...hop skip and jump for some :)

Raining, non outdoor play type of day but that don't stop me from putting a few personal touches to my new dozer.:D
Seat and controls out of a hobby engine pos I bought a few years ago finally makes a contribution
The dash board is en example of my hoarding. Way, way back as a teen I built 1:25 scale transports. Painted this dash and it was by far the best detail job I ever did so always kept it all these years although truck is long gone. Suddenly today, it serves a purpose of sorts:rolleyes::lol:
Little paint here and there and voila! .... A French Canadian dozer! :D:lol:

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!

I'm not sure about the Peterbilt/Corvette dash but the whole dozer is defiantly looking rugged! Love the big stack and the worn paint. The cat decals were a big improvement. Have you thought about wire wheeling the tracks and blade?

Supermario 08-14-2016 01:25 PM

Re: S&M construction open for bizz nizz!

Yes I was thinking about that Craig. I'm missing a couple grousers and the tracks could use a little freshen up. I don't want to do too much though because like you, I'm sold on the natural wear and tear look of it and the fact I hate painting it's all good.
The Pete dash is definitely not right but it looks better than nothing at all for now. Only installed with double sided tape so if and when I find or make something better it'll do for now. :)

Oh, and someone asked how the lowboys did in the yard?.... There Was a few tricky spots and scrubbing could be heard every now and then but drivers adapt, learn the road and wasn't many other hang ups.

After 3 years of work to create Foxville I can't believe I just put our house up on the market!
Not to worry, I haven't lost my mind, I see major potential in our new house in the country for a bigger and better layout. Oh, and the dream garage is a nice bonus too:D no more stairs! I'll be able to just drive them out of garage and on my way.:):bounce:

Not yet. It's Susan's dads house which he built in 98. He now has dimentia and can't live or be left alone. I've always loved the house and property and want to help keep it in the family so we buy and he lives with us.

Nice Mario, and I'm sure you will make good use of the new spaces. You ahead of me, my functional touilet is a box of empty gator aid bottles and the sauna is the entire garage. Been hot around here and garage becomes the sauna!!! Looks like you will have the ground to make plenty of roads and a nice sized functioning quarry!!! Selling off the steel plant? Or just gonna move operations? Workforce is gonna be upset, as I don't see the local foxes making the move:) no worries, the country has a greater variety of skilled labor. ;).

Hate to say it RW but it's gonna be a quiet, no build winter for me unfortunately.
Life took a big hair pin corner not long after the Foxville meet in August.
Susan's dads health deteriorated and so it was a move and care for family situation. For the first time in 4yrs I find myself letting off the RC hobby throttle:eek:

Her dad passed away Nov19th. Great guy and I miss him already :( he was also a part of the hobby. He travelled to Shipshewana and picked up the trailer Izzy built for Sue a few years ago.:)
and so now we are moved into the family home but trying to fit the possessions of 2 homes into one, in the winter......
Too much chaos right now and I can't see any action on the S&M thread this winter....:(
Next spring I begin the build of " Brownsville " in honor of Susan's dad,
Ray Brown. RIP
