Your truck looks awesome!.. what did you use to glue the side pieces in for the hood? before you used the filler? Im about to put in my order and tackle my first set of pete fenders..

I would pass on the solvent.. Ask Styln when your out in the sun it will come undone and it will show. This has happened to 3 of my bodys that solvent has been used on the rest used Mercury CA and not a one has popped yet.

I use the Bondene with no problems. Bondene will make a solid permanent bond but it must be used on like materials ABS to ABS or HIPS to HIPS. If you are unsure if the pieces to be glued are the same material use the Plastruct Plastiweld. All of my dump bed bodies are built using the bondene as well as my service truck bed. The boom and the bed on the service truck are all styrene and have no other materials used for reinforcement.

Finally made time to work on my truck :)

Mounted the sleeper plate and finished the lighting except for the roof lights. I wasnt completely happy with the body work so i ended up redoing some of it and now i am very content with it. Made a deck plate to hide the wires and to allow the hydraulics and servo lead to come out cleanly. Boxed up all the stuff thats going to paint so i can get a quote. Hopefully i can find some time to run to the body shop tomorrow :D

Pete 379 with UMS Hydraulics Installed!! 2-25-12

Installed the hydraulics on the truck and tested them out with the JMI frameless and a full load of rubber. The trailer sometimes has trouble going down does any one have any ideas as to why?

Here is my first video i took when i was just testing everything:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2i3jF...ature=youtu.be

And here is the video with the truck and trailer operating together:

That is a great set-up. I really would like to buy a Servonaut unit sometime for my own truck. I like the trailer you have too. That's really cool how the tarp works. As for the hydraulics being jumpy on the way down, I'd guess that maybe the cylinder is binding up a bit. You've really only got gravity helping to collapse the stages. Is that a Wedico pump and telescoping cylinder? I think Ralph (the trailer builder) always adds one more stage to the Wedico cylinders, for more lift. I'm not sure if he's a regular member here, but I think he is. Maybe ask him for some advice. Or maybe he'd be willing to take a look at the cylinder and get it working better for you.

Great videos. As for your trailer not coming down all the way, add some weight to the dog house. You can use some small steel pieces and double sided sticky tape it attach it. I had to do it to mine. That is one thing about Ralphs trailers they are nice and light weight, but need some extra pounds to come down all the way.

Simply incredible, that's all I can say, between the work on the truck, the servonaut unit (does sound better than the MFU) and that trailer, what a fantastic setup. Well done.

WOW I love that trailer!! This truck is going to be sweet when its done! Are the servonaut units easier to install then the Tamiya MFU's? Loved the vids cant wait to see the truck painted!

Im not really sure because ive only set up a servonaut module.... never done the MFU.

Well stayed up to the wee hours and finished just about everything done. im pretty happy with the paint and the overall look of the truck. I also want to thank everyone that contributed, S&P, The Bone yard, Ric from PMD and the guy that painted it up for me :D:D you all did an awesome job!! If it wasnt for you guys i would probably still be scratching my head on how to do things. :o:o Still need to attach the fenders and figure out the roof light situation but that will all be solved hopefully sooner that later ;)
