Re: Hopper BTM Bld
Rob - do you think the model without the arch fillers, top caps and edge rail are a must for the base kit? your thoughts. I really like the additions they do set that "look"

Re: Hopper BTM Bld
Your detailing additions to an already great trailer are spot on Rob!

Iz, for a basic kit, no, I wouldn't include all that to keep your cost down, I am sure that 99% of the talent here can shape their puppy to their likin'. These fillers apply to Tempte, Wilson and maybe a couple more. |

Re: Hopper BTM Bld
What about offering the tarp parts as a option, every grain trailer I've ever seen has had a roll tarp on it and not all of us shmoes have Rob's talent. Just a thought.

Re: Hopper BTM Bld
Lil update on the trailer:
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...t/IMG_0002.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...t/IMG_0003.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...t/IMG_0004.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...t/IMG_0006.jpg Once the panels are completely secure to the side, the join-lines will barley be visible, then it will be primed and painted. Thanks for looking! |
Re: Hopper BTM Bld
Man that came out nice Rob!! the treatment on the sides gives it a great scale look! This is a nice personal touch to an already great trailer.

Made paper pattern first:

Moved kingpin back 2in's. This make the trailer fit closer to the likings of the 1:1 http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../with_legs.jpg http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1...ilot/back2.jpg Auger clears top: http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../augerfits.jpg |
Re: Hopper BTM Bld
Rob I like you home made landing gear. And tightening it up really made it come together.....I like the sides but I personally like the plain back though.....

Re: Hopper BTM Bld
Awesome job on the trailer! You have nailed it.
|
Re: Hopper BTM Bld
that thing is off the hook! when we have are meet if we do im gonna pull it! i will even sighn a waiver!!!!

Re: Hopper BTM Bld
Rob thanks for showing me how to make the landing gear legs :D
|
Re: Hopper BTM Bld
I will post some poics of the complete bracket. You have to notch out the corner that fits to the slant portion of the hopper. By repositioning the landing gear, there is more clearance between the back of th trailer and the gear.

Re: Hopper BTM Bld
That trailer is comming together nicely Rob!
I love the sides, and the landing gear! |

Re: Hopper BTM Bld
I know this has been a slow build, but it is finally starting to come together. Started some paint. Still have a lot of trimming to do, but its starting to look like a HPR BTM.

Re: Hopper BTM Bld
Looking good Robert. I bet you have every counter top, washer and dryer full of your current builds, oh don't let me forget the kitchen table I think I saw that in use too. Nice.
