Also, my buddy is going to help me build a custom trailer, thinking something kind of like Izzy's toy hauler but with a few unique twists. should have something drawn up in cad in a week or so, so keep watching!

also, got my visor from Rod, it looks great!

Starting to look purrrrty mean there Civic. This will definitely be another masterpiece. Can't wait to see the finished Motormaster side by side with Optimus for an Autobot V Decepticon stand off.

So, maybe jumping the gun here, but any more Transformer themed trucks revving around in your head?

Is it just me or does anyone remember the heat sensitive badges on the original 80's transformer toys? You had to rub it with your thumb until heated up and either the autobot or decepticon emblem would appear and then disappear again as it cooled off. Be nice to have that on your trucks.

Ya I remember those badges they were cool! I do plan to build mixmaster ( bruder granite cement mixer) , and would love to do megatrons truck mode from the last movie. If I get into bruder conversions I can make all the members of devistator as well!

Yes, I remember those stickers! I had an original issue Optimus Prime and loved playing with that thing! I didn't get to many other Transformer toys though. Mom always said one was enough! I really don't remember there being a Motormaster. Was he one of the later generation Transformer robots?

Re: project motormaster

Nope g1, he was a member of the stunticons, he combined with 4 other cars to form menasaur . He was only in a handful of episodes I beleive.

Re: project motormaster

From Wikipedia:

Motormaster is depicted as a semi-trailer, similar in appearance in vehicle mode to Optimus Prime; however, unlike the Autobot leader, whose body is formed solely by the tractor unit, Motormaster's robot mode comes from the entire tractor-trailer, with the tractor unit forming his feet. Motormaster is able to reach a top speed of 140 mph in vehicle mode, while in robot mode he is armed with a cyclone gun that can produce winds of up to 400 mph. Motormaster commands his troops with fear rather than respect.[1] Motormaster, along with the rest of the Stunticons, combine into a gestalt called Menasor, of which Motormaster forms the main component.

Re: project motormaster

thanks to a good friend of mine the plans for motormasters trailer are ready. It is kind of based off a "toy hauler", but without the spread axles and is designed to use stock tamiya suspension parts. it has a complete floor and the rear ramp will be motorized. doors in the "possum belly" open for battery and electronics storage. the decepticon logo on the side is cut out and will be backlit

what do you guys think? I should have the prototype in a couple weeks.

Re: project motormaster

The trailer plans look great. A back-lit Decepticon emblem sounds awesome. I'm curious about the truck cab though. One question - no windows on the upper bunk roof?

civic83 04-17-2012 10:10 AM

Re: project motormaster

I thought long and hard about the windows, I left them out mainly because I wasn't sure how I would make "glass " to fit them.
