Re: Scania Toter

mirrors are having issues - not so impressed about hte amount of travel - I have them on Servos - but they are tending to bind up - will have to find another way..... And my mirror brackets broke - the wire section from the tube section - soldering steel to brass just isn't working out so well......we'll try something else and post some pics.....

Re: Scania Toter

- update -

remade the internals on the mirrors - to get the 3" of pull out each side - not yet servo driven - waiting on santa :o....

- but I did get the frame nearly done :D ....

Looks real good. Are you going to build half a house on the frame or just leave it bare?

Izzy nice gob mounting the axles. It is hard to tell in the pics how long it realy is but I have seen this in person and it is almost as tall as me and I am 5ft 9in I know I'm not real tall but that is one long trailer.

Chris, Is the trailer going to be made out of styrene, wood, metal, or something more exotic? Can't wait to see you pulling it at Indy!!

Looks good Chris. I sure have seen a lot of those and your spot on. Just be sure to paint it black, add rust, and bend the rear crossmember to the rear where the tow strap has been pulling on it. :) FYI - the homes I built were 15' 10" wide for a 32' and about 11' 6" to 12' 6" tall with the roof folded on the high side, trailer not included.

Nice work Chris. Something you don't see modeled very often. I'm looking forward to seeing the trailer loaded with a half house! This has been a great build. I like your machine work and the rear hitch. It turned out great.

Re: Scania Toter

2 kool!! My wife and I bought a double wide over the summer and its kinda kool how they bring it. It came in halves and the toter brought one and a tractor, large John Deer I think, the other. At 76' by 30' it was a job getting it down a rual path. They pulled both side by side and in a week or two it was ready to go. Instant summer home! If we ever decide to move it I'll give you a call.:D

Re: Scania Toter

Thanks Guys
- Pugs - I'll build a half section of House - it will be removable ;)

- Travis - main rails are 60"

- Steve - should be around the 70 foot scaled

- tc1cat - hoping to have the house protion done by Spring - but we'll see - sometimes I get on a roll - other times it takes me awhile. As for materials I was hoping ot be fairly realistic on the house build - we'll see

- Jon - thanks for the measurements - I am gonna need those ....

- Scott - I thought you were building the crane??:D

- anybody built a doll house before?? I could use the advice ......:p
