Re: Tremblay Excavation

Thanks guys will probably be 2-3 weeks before the decals go on as my new steel counter weight is to be machined along with some steel teeth for the siberia bucket :)

Great colour choice on the excavator. It's going to look so cool with the decals and attachments!

Steel counter weight is coming along. Many regions of Quebec were without power for a couple days because of a crappy ice storm having branches fall on the electrical lines taking them out. Couple days behind but it's getting there!

Machinist is done with the new steel counter weight and bucket teeth just has to drill some mounting holes. Pretty stoked going to pick everything up tomorrow and will be dropping the counter weight off at the powder coater's to match up as close as possible to the original color on the 4200 :D

Re: Tremblay Excavation

Went to pick everything up this morning. Really happy with the job. New steel counter weight weighs in at slightly over 8lbs which is 5lbs heavier then the aluminum one. Bucket teeth also came out looking good! :D:cool:

Re: Tremblay Excavation

Powder coater quoted me 3 weeks to paint the counter weight. Didn't have the exact shade of orange I was looking for to match up with the rest of the excavator so he will be ordering code# RAL 2003 powder to do the job

Compliments on a very very nicely appointed excavator! Going to "hurt" getting it dirty ...

The decals really make it pop, your patience and attention to detail paid off big time!

Re: Tremblay Excavation

Nice stuff, would like to see more of the truck, especially hooked to the lowboy! How do you like those stacks? I have a set of those myself but have mixed feelings about them.

Northern Farmer 05-11-2016 10:50 PM

Re: Tremblay Excavation

I like the stacks actually, I had a hard time finding them. I find they look more realistic then the one's I had before with the aluminum brackets attached to them and to the body. Also thought it kind of looked funny before with the stacks below the chassis you can clearly see that they go no where lol. Atleast the Rigid stacks mounted to the frame look like they lead to the engine.

Claus 05-11-2016 11:00 PM

Re: Tremblay Excavation

I like them for the same reasons you do but what I don't like is you still have to hide the holes in the cab and the aluminum is nice but it ain't chrome!

Polish them up well you'll be able yo pass it off it as chrome lol. I mounted the brackets to the frame so that the stacks line up with the holes and since they hug the body closer then the other one's I had before you can barely see the holes now...the black paint probably helps I'm sure lol

Re: Tremblay Excavation

Brandon, I'm not trying to spend your money, BUT..... powder coat that lowboy black, add some D.O.T. red and white stripes, then put some of Steve's wheels on there, that would be a show stopper!
