Re: Oshkosh P-series

Thanks guys.
No rush Steve!
I hope to:

1) complete my Challenger in the next week, I'm waiting on some bearings and a battery
2) gotta fix my Skidder (I believe I have injured the steering servo, stripped something)

3) finish the belly-dump

and then after the P-series it will be a Kenworth W900 (not sure what the letter after the 900 is, I don't know my trucks that well, I have pics though) daycab and a double secret piece of JD construction equipment.

Re: Oshkosh P-series

Pretty nice and I am envious for sure. I do wish I had the tools and the knowledge on how to start my own scratch build. Much better than the kits that are being offered out there. :D

Where does one get tires and wheels from ... like these used here? Are they 'home-grown' or is there a manufacturers website with sizes to choose from?

I like your Oshkosh.

Could you use button plugs for the center caps?. They are made of stainless steel and just snap into place.

Oh boy, that looks incredible! Hits the spot for sure. What talent you have. I cannot wait to see this truck completed, wearing a proper paint job, but even so, it looks so good right now. Beautiful.

Re: Oshkosh P-series

Thanks guys! I'm trying like heck it's my 1st truck build and 1st real attempt at styrene.

Alex : I fully expect some type of build thread from you here real soon Mr., quit sandbaggin' and lay it out there.

Panther F: The wheels and tires are from AFV (a German Co.). I have had IHbuilder make adaptors for me though (they don't alter the look, he's amazing).

Ken Orme: I have center caps that came with them and they are truely scale (nice).

Man, I love the Oshkosh P series. You could build a nice M911 with that set up and cab. Great job on the styrene work. Looks like you certainly got the hang of using it.

Snochaser 01-08-2012 03:11 PM

Re: Oshkosh P-series

I've never looked at an M911 til' now, that's a beast of a truck! It may be a bit easier that the current build.

Nice update pics Ben!! I love the grill. Who did that for you? You'll have it ready for Indy, right?:D:D

Snochaser 01-16-2012 09:21 PM

Re: Oshkosh P-series

Thanks guys. I hope to have some paint on here soon, then it'll lOok like something.

Brian- heavy metal did the grill for me back in July ( awesome job).

I need to find some standard mudflap mounts. Finish my mirror extensions, custom light buckets, more body work and so on. I better be done for Indy, I hope to make it to Brookville in March.
