Just to get technical.....alot of reefers need em slid forward to compensate the extra weight of the reefer up front....just sayin! :)

Looks good.

Did you order leds from pmd? :D

No I understand that, I just meant the tandems were very far forward almost to far forward to look scale. To me they look a little to far forward in relation to the landing gear. I'm a huge fan of this build so far since I was an owner operator with a utility reefer, not many guys do the custom owner operator looking reefers, especially the stainless wagons or the spread axels.

Re: optimus prime transformers

yea thats true but if you look at the movie trailer the tandems are slid forward so that is the look iam going for i used the tamiya reefer body for the length and the regular box trailer chassis in order to get this effect..thanks for looking and commenting i appreciate it:p

Re: optimus prime transformers

also the tamiya trailers are not really to scale so its what i have to work with ,not that far advanced yet to build my own from scratch but i am getting there:rolleyes::D:D

Yea man I hear you, I'm not that skilled yet eitger thats why I'm trying to plot out my reefer build still. I must say Tamiya really doesn't make it easy for us American truck fans LOL. Your stainless optimus reefer is looking great, keep it up. I'm dying to see the tractor....

This looks very movie accurate, well done.

If you want a head start on building the old school trailer, enlarge and print the below:

That truck is coming along real nice can't wait to see finiished product. If I knew you were going with the stainless look for your trailer I might have been able to get you some real stainless. I did my refer trailer using real stainless makes the thing real **** heavy though. I tell you what that stailess decal looks real **** good.

Re: optimus prime transformers

thanks guys for the compliments, and swagger i know about the multiple post thing ,travis told me awhile ago but i don't know what i am doing wrong:eek: i tried to keep both sites open at the same time ..this one and photobucket but when i go to photobucket to get picture and come back to this site the reply i previously held open is blank:mad: so i do it one picture at a time in separate post:( ...tell me how to do it and i will try again:confused: but you would have to explain in terms i will understand i am not 100% on this computer yet but i am getting there

Dreamweaver 05-24-2012 03:51 AM

Re: optimus prime transformers

Trailer looks good...

As for the multiple post thing. You need to open two windows one for this forum and one for photobucket. then switch between the windows. What it sounds like to me is that you are switching to photobucket in the same window you have the forum open then backing up to the forum again. This will cause you to loose what you have put in your post.

Easiest way to open Photobucket in a new window. If you have photobucket set in a favorite then RIGHT click on the link and choose the "Open in a new window" choice. If you do it right you should have two tabs at the top of the browser, one that says RC Truck and Construction and one that says Photobucket. Then you just click on the tabs to go between the two sites.

Nice build! any idea how your gonna do the flames on the tractor?

1985 kenworth 05-27-2012 12:29 AM

Re: optimus prime transformers

actually brian i couldn't paint a flame if my life depended on it:eek: so because i don't trust myself to do a exact replica job for the paint:( i have inlisted a gent i know who does paint jobs with near professional results .there is 2 guys that can do it .one i have seen his work and his paint blows me away with the detail:D and the other is unbelievable what he can achieve with an airbrush or hand brush:): so to answer your question the cab is being sent out to be painted:p:p besides i would not want to have to do a bad repaint over a bad paintjob:rolleyes:
