Re: LR634 has arrived!
Stahl & Leimbach are two separate entities, though they did work together for many yrs to produce the 1st construction models for market. Klaus Leimbach has had his son working with him for many yrs, hopefully he is a much more responsible individual than Harald Stahl's son was after his passing, and Leimbach hyds live on after the ol man can't do it anymore. ;)

Re: LR634 has arrived!
Well I have been really busy with work for the holidays but that didn't stop me from doing a little bit more work on the loader.
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...8955486AF8.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...8952345478.jpg Not used to the same color wires on the same motor, those crafty Germans ;) http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...894C4445AB.jpg Test fitting the cylinders http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...894954ED4A.jpg This picture shows you how far you can pull the hydraulics out to adjust pressure , adjust servos, change oil WITHOUT unplugging a single line!!!!! Horay ! Try that with 966 loader...Not http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...89465F2C8C.jpg Now the messy part. The oil filter O-ring was pinched and I didn't see it, let's just say hydraulic oil does not taste as good as I thought :). http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...89435C0149.jpg She LIVES!!! I hope the link works. http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...8922BF3C4C.mp4 |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Lookin good!
What radio you using for control? What pressure have you set it to? |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
I'm using a Hitec aurora 9, have not messed with pressure yet. I usually keep them exactly where they're set from the factory since I'm not hauling my basement out of my house ;). This one is brushless and I can kinda adjust the pressure by turning the rpm from the radio slider. Here is a link to a short video.

Re: LR634 has arrived!
Well I took a little break from the build and now feeling kinda lazy and don't feel like doing any work, except I added a little color to the cab and started on the smal body details.
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...AC632AE1B7.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...AC67CB523E.jpg Now, what goes well with a new loader? Here is the answer, a new radio ;). DX10t with expandable receiver to make it 18 channels. I cannot stress how freaking cool this radio is. It's super light , aluminum and stainless steel, extra channels on the gimbals that can also be converted to 3 position switches. Enough said, here it is http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...AC6D43A6E1.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...AC6FDCCF31.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...AC72990E19.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...AC9F57D74F.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...AC6A76E8F0.jpg Thanks for looking! Re: LR634 has arrived!
Nice radio you got there. Those are pretty bad arse..... Sorry to derail your build thread but I have few question on your old radio, I've been going round and round on picking up a new one and the hitec aurora 9 was in top 3 I was looking at, what were your thoughts on it? I don't have ant construction equipment yet but plan on it some day, my max channel use now is 6-7 so I think I'd be good with it. Did you have any major complaints or issues with it?
--Dan |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Nice looking radio. 'Converting the gimbals to three position switches' - Can you explain that a little more in depth? The center sliders - are those two more proportional channels? Enjoy the new radio. Must of been a heck of a Chritmas present!
|
Re: LR634 has arrived!
I love my aurora, it's a 9 channel, and with software update you can get more channels out of it. Touch screen, 30 model memory and very comfy. The reason I'm switching is I am sponsored by spektrum when I race RC cars, otherwise the Autora is baaad arse also. In fact, I will be posting it for sale very soon. The only think I didn't like was the sticks, the were a little too short for my taste, so i made some longer ones and now i am 100% saticfied. I have three 9 channel receivers, 2 seven and 1 six . It is still like new with plastic on the screen.

Re: LR634 has arrived!
Aurora is the best radio i've ever touched short of graupner mc series.
But people think im crazy when i say that. Glad you've discoved the power of that awesome TX as well. |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Yes it is the best radio I have ever owned, and I've got a lot of radios.
|
Re: LR634 has arrived!
The new radio is a nice addition to your new machine. Very impressed !
Keep us posted on the build process. cheers |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
So not a lot of progress for you guys to see, but it has been such a challenge trying to make the doosan logo from scratch, especially since I have no computer skills what so ever, but I nailed it after many tries . Here is the real one
http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...31a04ad1ed.jpg And the ones I made with my vinyl cutter http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...4E017281ED.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...2C9C9B2D5C.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...2C959F7985.jpg Why not!! we even got a little ambitious and made this one off Mack old school mudflap logos http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...C5B46A0D89.jpg. That is it for now. |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
MoRockN, I see a nice looking headrack on that truck with the sweet mudflaps. Do you have a build thread on that truck I would like to see more of it. By the way the Doosan paint is very nice!

Loader is a fantastic build. Love the look with all the decals on there. May I ask what brand of vinyl cutter you have?

Re: LR634 has arrived!
MoRockN,
Sure is a fine lookin machine. Some of the parts it's obvious that they are metal or plastic, however, some??, can you describe the material used at least for the important parts whether metal or plastic? Thanks, Colin |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Everything on the chassis is metal except the tracks and the bucket teeth. The body is hard styrene .
|
Re: LR634 has arrived!
What are the tracks made of?
Great looking build by the way. |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
The tracks are made out of a Hardened plastic with some mixed fibers in it, if you're into RC cars you'll know it, they call it graphite, super hard and strong. You can buy the metal tracks as an option and also the Metal teeth, 40 euros for the teeth and 395 euros for the tracks. I am not looking to change them to metal until something breaks. It's almost done, just need to hook all the wires and install some lights. I will post a video soon.
|
Re: LR634 has arrived!
oh ok thats interesting, so are the metal tracks more expensive?

Lol! It's well worth it, you are gonna have so much fun with it. And thanks for the help with the question above ;)
|
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Awesome. Looking forward to the videos! I really like this loader. Best bang for the buck machine out there, I think!
|
Re: LR634 has arrived!
That thing is cool need to get me some construction equipment.Good job on the build and the hydro system is cool
|
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Who makes the hydraulic system and where did you get everything from I'm looking at Carson model sports site.Do you buy direct from them
|
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Hi folks,
I too have the LR634 with hydraulics. Here´s a vid of the latest event http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vdwgy4Ca1dE The hydraulics are from www.leimbach-modellbau.de Maybe the best shop to order is Frank´s www.fechtner-modellbau.de They ship worldwide bye Ulrich |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Ulrich, Nice loader you got there. Thanks for sharing.
Ok guys , here is the moment you all been waiting for... ( well the ones that actually care :) ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byYuFg4hqA8 Please make sure you select High Def as I post all my fideos that way. Thank you! |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
congrats on the first run ive been watching this buildup this is a very nice loader. If I can save up some money that will be my next purchase. What did the total at this point, not counting the builder;)
|
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Looks great. Fine job.
|
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Thanks guys. This has been a great machine to build, the parts are made so well and they fit perfect just like Tamiya kits. As it sits with everything and ready to run it set me back $4070, not including the radio.
|
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Nice paiting on your loader as well. This way it´s unique. Over here there are almost two many of the loaders present around.
Altough one little detail is missing. Maybe the enviromental regulations at yours aren´t that tight :D bye Ulrich |
Re: LR634 has arrived!

Did you have to wait in line for this machine, if so, did they require a deposit? I like the detail and vid looks great. Good luck with it. |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
That's a great video, and the loader looks really nice. The bucket cycle times look killer! Very responsive hydraulic system. Hmm, maybe I'll have to start saving up for one of these machines too. They look like they are well worth the money, which is pretty affordable, compared to what some of the other options out there cost. I like it. Thanks for posting.

Re: LR634 has arrived!
Thank you guys for the comments, it really is going to be a lot of fun once the snow lifts off a bit for me to have fun with it in its real environment
Catmack, I pay for everything in full before I get it. Once you place your order they gather up all the bits, the waiting is more transit time than anything. Ulrich, you got me brother ;) . I live in the corn fields so no Emission issues here ;). Haha, no I was doing a little something with the exhaust pipe and forgot to put it back on. |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
This seems a little backwards, I thought i posted these pictures but just now could not figure out where they went, just found them now, it's about the lighting and electronics, had to cut the speaker box to make room for other things. I also got a new trailer to haul this beast ( like I need more projects ) as the Bruder one is a tad flexible for the heft of the machine.
These let's are super bright as you can see in the vid. I used some hot glue to secure them in the buckets so the don't move around. http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...4796094FBF.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...479C81FA81.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...4792C960F6.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...47A04F8D27.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...478F74EEB1.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...479924041D.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...47BCB34792.jpg What a mess.... But no worries, it's all tidy in there now. http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...47BFBABE90.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...47B211F280.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...47B5BED7F5.jpg And here is the new Goldhofer trailer. 13lbs of awesomeness... http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...478BB8A16B.jpg http://i1250.photobucket.com/albums/...4786BC58A3.jpg. I will post build pictures in the appropriate section when the time comes. Thanks for looking! |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Looks nice! Hard to tell, but are your lights 3mm LEDs?
|
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Mo!
You bought one of the Goldies while Tamiya had it on sale too, or did you get yours elsewhere? Will have to compare builds and options as we work on the beasties. Seein' yours open and ready to be assembled is makin me drool, waiting for mine to arrive. And I agree, the Bruder is a bit below the task for a decent carrier of other R/C equipment. I may turn mine into a cargo carrier or sommat... have to see. WhiteWolf |
Re: LR634 has arrived!
Guys, where is the best place to buy one of these? TTM, Permacon? Somewhere else? I just want the loader kit, with a hydraulic retro-fit, and the track drive. Seems like it's going to run about $3,400, plus shipping, with no radio electronics.
