Quick "Mock-up", plenty of wiring and electronics to install.

Looking good! I have never seen one of these before! Your powder-coating skills are awesome! Looking forward to some video of it in the dirt! :D

That's sharp, Mitch. Might I ask where you got the hydraulic hose protectors? I'm pretty sure those didn't come in my kit! :D I'm curious why the perforated metal, on the right side of the machine, is bolted to the side panel.

Great job Mitch, can I ask where you have put the battery and what size you used, I know with mine the space is limited when the electronics go in. I have put two Tamiya packs together to give me 10,000ma but I have no room for a speaker.

Amazing job. I've been considering the LR 634 but now I see what you've been able to do I feel inspired! Did you coat the track and the ripper shanks or are they bare metal? I've always been a fan of powercoating!

Hose protectors from "Harbor Frieght" spring kit. Used the metal screen as an accent (and to cover a paint flaw);)

I put the battery in front of the ballast, and used two 1600 Ma batteries. Also, as you can see in the picture, I bolted a "Scale Art" speaker and box under the exhaust stack (after I cut out a hole);)

The tracks and rippers are metal, with no coating. I did bead blast the tracks to dull them.;)

Thanks ! I decided to leave the rear cylinders and rippers bare metal to show the "Uninitiated" that the model is not a toy ( well not a plastic toy).

Hi Mitch

Great work cannot wait to see some video of it in action.
You should be proud of what you have achieved.

Nice job on the powdercoat and paint. ?? for you- you have a toggle switch inside the cab in an early pic but I do not see it in any of the last batch of pics. Is it the off/on switch? Did you find out that the cab is not a good place for it?

Great video, Mitch. One of my favorite dozers on the forum, and probably the best looking RC Deere bulldozer out there. Seems to have great traction and power too.

Really great job, Mitch.

I really like your color scheme. How did you paint the gray and the yellow on plastic. I assume you used a air compressor/paint sprayer? You must be a better painter than I am.

Hi MItch that is a thing of beauty, i was considering purchasing a wedico wheel loader for my winter project but now i am totaly undecided what to go for.you have made an outstanding job,my only criticism is powder coat is a little gritty in places but thats me being a perfectionist again. where did you get the decals from they are superb. Would i be too cheeky in asking for a ballpark cost overall? If i decide upon buying one would you mind if i contacted you for advice. Think carefully before answring as i might become a pain. Anyway again a really great project and blog. Cheers, Johnny b. Email,jabrentnall@gmail.com

Awesome track loader!
The stock track is rubber correct?

Thanks for clarifying. You would think the nylon tracks wear out fast.

Re: Carson L634

I have nylon tracks on my JD850, they don't show much signs of wear in 2yrs.

Re: Carson L634

I thought the tracks on the Carson were graphite impregnated plastic?

Lil Giants 02-20-2014 09:29 PM

Re: Carson L634

Well, maybe that's what it's called John, I'm not really sure... it's a mixture of something & cast in a mould.

Sorry for late responses. Been involved in other things. Thanks for the compliments, the powder coat is my first attempt. I expect better results next time (Maybe Franks Dozer). Please feel free to contact me anytime. I'll try to check the messages more often.

Re: Carson L634

Even though I have read this build I keep coming back and re-reading it. Love everything you added in Mitch from the metal tracks and ripper to the added weight under the machine, the hose protectors and the awesome Powder Coating, it will be hard for someone to a better job on one of these Carson Loaders than this one right here.

Claus 01-25-2016 09:33 PM

Re: Carson L634

RIP Mitch, still one of the best, cleanest, Carson Loaders I have seen.

Re: Carson L634

The pictures don't do that loader justice, that is an amazing machine. When Mitch showed me that loader, I was tempted to buy it. Mitch told me that he put on metal tracks but he had to mill them down so they would fit that model. It's too bad Mitch isn't with us anymore, he was an amazing guy & model builder. I'm glad I bought my 966 from him and was able to meet him before he pasted away.

Nice loader indeed! Always sad to see someone go...RIP

Re: Carson L634

It was a nice loader, it has moved on to Australia.
Sad to hear Mitch passed.
