Re: 4 Hour Bruder Dozer
OK, so this thing might as well have been a scratch build... I seriously doubt it would have cost much more and probably would have only taken twice as long to build. Having said that I am starting to think that this may be the most rugged looking example of this particular type of Bruder dozer.
I spent some more time on this tonight and it's starting to take shape now. I have the lower part of the blade mounted to the c frame and the c frame mounted to the Cat. While I was at it I decided that the blade was too narrow so I added 1/2" to the middle. Not a big deal, although I wish I had done it right the first time. Once I had that to my liking I milled up the guarding on the top and welded it on. Let me know what you think! http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8a6066ae.jpg http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3f9e5c73.jpg http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2a07c353.jpg http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1eed0213.jpg |

Wow reg looks really great

Re: 4 Hour Bruder Dozer
slowly each plastic part is replaced with aluminium........nice!

Re: 4 Hour Bruder Dozer
This is sweet Reg! How did I miss this until now?!!
A million times more real with the metal tracks and other additions! Great job!, -Alex |
Re: 4 Hour Bruder Dozer
Reg,
Guarding and blade assembly turned out nice. It's the little things by way of detail that breaths life into what was a toy. Very well done. Cheers Paul |
Re: 4 Hour Bruder Dozer
AWESOME work Reg!!
So how much are you gonna charge for a complete aluminum replacement parts kit for this bruder so we can build one like it? John |
Re: 4 Hour Bruder Dozer
Hey John! Good to see you're still around here! I'm not sure exactly but if there was a demand I would make the parts. How's the popcorn supply this time of year???:rolleyes:
I am slowly trying to rid this thing of the "earth touching plastic". I got 50mm actuators for all four positions but I have discovered that 30mm ones would have worked better on the blade so I will need to get those before I finish it up. Lots of other work to do yet though so stay tuned! |
Re: 4 Hour Bruder Dozer
FWIW I would invest in a set great work

Here's a short video of it running around....http://youtu.be/TpfMGHOYgJI

Re: 4 Hour Bruder Dozer
Here's a couple videos of it pushing! I still need to add the cutting edges to the blade so I think it will work pretty well in loose soil considering how wet and heavy the sand was in video 1.

Re: 4 Hour Bruder Dozer
Nice job Reg, the blade looks great. Some day when I get around to doing my D5 I might have to talk to you about tracks.

Re: 4 Hour Bruder Dozer
I finally took the time to make the steel cutting edge for the blade today.

Looks great Reg! Just when I was happy with what I had you create this! ;):D |
Re: 4 Hour Bruder Dozer
Haha, It's definitely not a 4 hour project anymore that's for sure. For those that have expressed an interest, I am going to build one for someone and see how it goes for cost + time, then I will come up with a solid price. I have ordered all the parts for it so I will be putting it together(with some changes/updates) soon. I will keep everyone up to date as I make progress.
Here's a bit more video of mine working. So far I am quite impressed with it considering it's only about 6lbs! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfTs...tJ-DusnO8Onw7A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nRB...tJ-DusnO8Onw7A Thanks for looking. |
