Re: CAT 374D L
Do you have any other drawings than that you get from the CAT site? They use there only the same 320 drawings and just different dimensions. I was looking for 390dl drawings and found that only in asian sites are the real drawings.

Re: CAT 374D L
Good job!
Are you making every part individually in CAD and hoping that everything fits together well or you make a assembly before cutting and check design mistakes? Could you post a picture of it? You said that you didn't find tracks wide enough, what is the width of yours then? |

The tracks that I'm planning to use are 64 mm wide. |

Re: CAT 374D L
Was it made from one piece or several put together? Very good job indeed!
I was wondering that have you tried this CAD program: http://www.ptc.com/products/creo-ele...eling-express/ It has got free trial with some limited functions but you can do pretty easily great stuff and also assemblies. I have been working with Solidworks but I can say that this is for a free copy very good, not so advanced but still great. What CAM program are you using? |
Re: CAT 374D L
I started to make the bucket for the 374. It's going to be an extreme duty (XD) bucket as Cat calls it. It will have alot of wear plates and four teeth.
It's 140 mm wide in 1:14 scale and in real life almost 2 meters wide. http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...L/IMG_0108.jpg http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...L/IMG_0109.jpg http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...L/IMG_0114.jpg |
Re: CAT 374D L

Re: CAT 374D L
Some progress with the bucket:)
In the first photo you'll see the original bucket that I'm trying to imitate http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...20L/374D-5.jpg http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...L/IMG_0130.jpg http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...L/IMG_0127.jpg http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...L/IMG_0132.jpg |
