Re: New Build ..Meet Frostbite

got the stainless tridem dry van almost built..got the frame put under the trailer and the tridem suspension put on it .used the knighthauler 1/4 fenders for both the tractor and the trailer.redid the roof on the cab because i was not happy with the way it turned out .redid it again ..primed and put the Powder White Pearl paint on the cab.scratchbuilt the visor for and drilled the holes..painted it ..added the 3mm aluminum bezels with the clear lenses as that is what will be used throughout the truck ..anyway here are some pics to see the progress.i should be finished this combo unit in a day or 2..just putting the mfu and electronics in it right now and i found a 1/14 scale bike for Frostbite in my lhs so instead of the diecast bike ..it will be r/c

Re: New Build ..Meet Frostbite

using the stock globeliner steps i redid them to look more like the cabover freightliner steps by cutting one ..bolting them together to cut the opposite one the same and using styrene strips i heated it and bent it to the ciontours of the steps and this is what i ended up with which looks better i think

installed them backwards so the lip is on the inside ..this is the end result

Dwayne, wow what a great jobs. Great project, looks well thought out and executed from start to finish. I have enjoyed reading your posts following the build.

I may have missed it, is this your actual truck or a friends truck that you used as the subject of the model?

Thank you again, great job! Maybe I'll be able to see this in person someday.

Regards,

Jim

thanks ...i always wanted to have a Cabover Freightliner Highrise ...but as you know you cannot get one unless its 3d printed and expensive,so i decided to scratchbuild it myself.I thought well somewhere around 89-92 and seeing that is was not technically vintage ,i figured everyone would like to see a Harley on it .I went the opposite and this whole entire truck and trailer unit is not based of of any truck.it was a thought that popped in my head and the name was already there...lol.thanks for looking and the interest:D:D
