Re: project motormaster
This thing is looking great.....can't wait to see it assembled. Does any one remember Puffer optimus primes little yellow friend who was also a cabover kw? In one cartoon episode I remeber for some reason optimus was injured and needed Puffer to haul his trailer back home to the autobots hq.

Re: project motormaster
heres a small update, got my bumper from Russ, and installed the visored bezels from Lynn. Also hand formed the rear fender assembly out of aluminum, ready for paint. The fenders will be black with purple ghosted flames up them.

Re: project motormaster
Awesome as always Civic. I am not really qualified to say so, but if there was a way to hide the hinge and still have it functional that would reduce the gap between the cab and bumper and move the axle forward a tiny bit, the front end would look a good bit tighter. I hope you don't mind me saying so, I am a HUGE fan of your work. Just an idea. Still looks mean as **** and really looking forward to seeing this guy parked up beside Prime!

Re: project motormaster
Thanks for the input. I looked for ways to hide more of the hinge and the only 2 ways were to mill out some of the top of the bumper ( which I didn't want to do ) or make the hinge pin and tubes smaller diameter. Option 2 would work but I would be worried about durability, the hinge I built now flexes when it's tipped forward. I may end up putting a thin "skirt" strip along the front edge to take up a bit of the gap. As for moving the axle. I thought about it, maybe when I redo the cab ( this ones only temporary).
I appreciate the comments and suggestions! |
