Re: Rebuild of a Knight Hauler after a Crash

Hi...

Just a small update. I've built a transport box for the truck. At home I remove the front plate and insert a glas window. Than it's a cabinet.

Today I added charging cables at the bottom. This gives me the possibility to charge the truck without getting it out of the box.

At the top I added a strip with 5 orange LEDs.

That's how it looks over the day.

Peter - you have done a fantastic update on this black devil. I especially like your wiring and electronics skills.

Btw - your mud flap hangers are awesome.

my knight is still in original "paint" white plastic. i gotta tell my son to take some pics, he is way better than I am and he is only 6, gruesse nach dortmund

Make over for my Black Devil

Hi...

After 2 years I decided to start a make over for my Black Devil. He will get my developed driving board to simulate a realistic driving. This will be explained in a later posting.

May actions for the last days was a rebuild of a sun shield. My first plan was replace one part, but it was a total disaster.

http://up.picr.de/27612877nv.jpg

So I decided to design a complete new sun shield.

I started with the side parts. My goal is to keep it clean, no screws so it had to be fastened from the inside.

Now the sun shield.

Now I have side parts and a sun shield. Th challenge now is to solder the shield keeping the correct position but without damaging the cab.

So I built a support to be able to solder with a flame stress-free to the side parts.

The support gave me the possibility to work with wet papers to keep already soldered parts together.

Here you can see a brass staf, it shows me the middle of the sun shield.

I mounted it to the truck and from my point of view the job is done. Now it must be filled, sanded and painted.

That's it...
