Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments!
Just did a little bit of work tonight after studying for a quiz tomorrow...... No fun lol Do you think I have enough wires? :p http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...r/SAM_0480.jpg This just shows my drive shaft set up. They dont match but they were the only two that were the right dimensions, and besides you cant really see the small one anyways http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...r/SAM_0482.jpg http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...r/SAM_0484.jpg Thanks for looking! |
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
I think we need to find something that has about 50 more wires to put on your truck.... Then it'll have enough :)
Truck is looking awesome J.D! The new rails are deff looking great! cant wait to see more updates! |
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
Wires  What wires  Where do you see wires
All I see is potential for "MORE POWER!!!" :D:D:D Looking good so far. Keep going, it'll be a great build. :) - RCT |
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
Lookin sweet JD
hey, isn't copper selling high right now? More value dude! Lol. I see the servonaut system has just as much a wiring nightmare as the MFU. speaking of which , how do all your cab lights connect to the lighting board? Is it one plug or a bunch of little plugs like the MFU? I like the sound from the servonaut system and if more user friendly may go with that on my wife's truck. I hate having to keep the shell so close to chassis when I have it opened up:(:( . I know it's more cash but I don't mind paying for something that's easier to work with over the long run. Keep up the nice work and the pics! :) Mario |

Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
Let me say I saw this at Indy, and pic's doesn't do this justice.:):):) Now I have two questions...How did you mount the speaker, and where did you get the coiled wires for the trailer hook up? Thanx.

Ended up being a bigger undertaking than i had originally thought to put the new cylinder in...... Ive remade the pivot point, modified the draft arms, I'll also have to redo the wiring to the truck and rework the automatic tailgate lock since it rubs on the cylinder now..... but the new cylinder works like a charm ;) Didn't get a video of it, but will try to get one this weekend http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/...p/SAM_0499.jpg |
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
j.d.
This was one of my favorite dump trailers at Indy and the improvments you made are bad a$$. The electric tarp is awsome the stretch you put on the truck is perfect. TONY |
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
Loves me a Servonaut !!

|
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
looks great JD! You'll love that Scale art cylinder too!
|
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
Hello YoungGunz ,
Beautiful assembly, more effective than mine ...... |
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
That frameless trailer just plain rocks, is that the new 5 stage cylinder or the 4 stage cylinder? I am going to pick my 5 stage cylinder up from Ed down at his show in a little over a week. You have everything so cleanly plumbed looks great.
|
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
Looks super sweet JD
I went back to page one on your thread the other day and to see how far and how sharp your rig has become.......hats off to ya JD, very nice work and finish :) Mario |
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
Really like the new look. The electrical lines for the trailer are looking good. I think you could just about stand that trailer up on the rear bumper
|
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
I hope you put an updated photo in the "show us" dump truck section.
|
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
Got some pieces polished up today, hopefully I can get the rear bumper wired and the grill installed soon. I am going to have to do some machining on the front bumper for it to sit flush with the front fenders. Will have some more updates soon

Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
that truck is great. that tarp is slick and good job on the lights. those chrome pieces will add to the beauty also. "must be country wide" or "truck yeah"
|
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
Hey JD. Are ya getting close to that thousand dollar mark since saying your truck was done?:p:D. Lol
Mario |
Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
This is a great build. I really like the transformation. The dump trailer is very nice, but that's not to take away anything from the truck. Both pieces are fine examples of modeling. Thanks for sharing the photos and updates!

Re: Pete 379 Flat Top 48"
