I try my best to, 100 hours run time could be a long time waiting but will share any thing which crops up.

Well he's an update.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-C...2/IMG_3319.JPG

Split pipe as it comes off the pump. Thing is I didn't have pump running that high and I was indoors showing it off so wasn't putting it under any real strain.

Will have a clean up another evening see if anything looks wrong. For now I'm thinking some clear laquer coat overspray might of weakended the pipe as it's gone at that place.

Today I got to play in the garden.

So bit of weeding :DO

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/--...2/IMG_3380.JPG

Ran good, struggled pulling the grass/weeds out which I would expect. Gone through 2 x 2200mah 3S batteries running pump at 20-40% stalling the pistons with the load and no oil leaks pump and pipes only slightly warm so happy running okay so far.

Until!

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-t...2/IMG_3381.JPG

Thought the grass had locked the tracks and caused a link to snap but looks like a simple derailment although too much tension in the spring to pop back on so looks like I need to open up the track to get back on :BH

But all learning curve. Don't over tax tracks when crambed full of grass!

Re: Metal Excavator - Magom HRC MG1.4

Also this evening been playing with the settings on the radio.

So now I flick a switch it starts the pump at about 10%. Then

Main boom arm when called for adds 20%
Boom to bucket adds 10%
Bucket adds 10%

So overall the pump is running between 10% throttle at idle to a max 50% throttle with all 3 pistons been used.

It works good but way too fast for me who was running it down at about 20-30% so will make another profile with less power so I can get use to it then switch back to this version when I need the power.

Re: Metal Excavator - Magom HRC MG1.4

Well be playing today, all running good. With the new settings to the pump running on demand getting much longer run time no issues with heat.

Also added a setting on the radio where flicking a switch on it automatically adds 20% throttle to the pump, bit like a boost option.

Thanks for the nice comments guys.

Yes I’m very happy with how it’s turned out, and now using it more to dig stuff I’m slowly getting using to controlling an excavator and having a lot of fun.

Will post more videos when I do them.

Where did you get your new slip ring?

Hello! Great work on your 330D! :)

I've just bought one from Magom, but need your help about LEDs: what type and power LED have you used? They are very compact, yet pretty shiny! :)

Greetings from Italy
Fabio

Can’t remember. It was from one of the China stores.

Again I can’t remember. Something like SMD 2.4x2.4mm white.

I got to admit I haven’t had much time to use the excavator over the year (been busy with other projects) but will point out issues I have had.

Not long after completed it the piston for the bucket stopped working, it had blown a seal/gasket. Magom sent replacements and the piston was easy to take apart and repair all in under half an hour. Not certain if the failure was manufacturing issue of my lack of skills as a new operator, running too high pressure digging into very hard ground. It happened, but hasn’t since so I’m not too worried and was a quick repair once I got replacement parts.

The tracks aren’t that great driving over rough terrain, don’t grip in dirt and spinning on spot tends to derail a track. Again this might be me, digging in sticky dirt (most the videos I’ve seen RC excavators are on sand or dry dirt)

The weight of the model seems light as the model tends to move rather than bucket through the dirt (my sticky dirt again). With sand this isn’t a problem.

Overall still happy with it and glad I bought it. Just shame I haven’t had enough time to use it over the summer.
