OOOOOh! I smell road trip.
I might have to take the camera and get a bunch of photo's of those machines. Live Steam, R/C, and model loaders. That would be a unique build.:D |

Feel free to flood away! I haven't read the whole story but I will. Since we have a 1961 Euc, I find it interesting to learn more about their history as well as others surrounding them. Thanks for the post. What model do you think the truck in the last pic would be? Reg |

now I know who put in all those valleys in that area :rolleyes: I did some work up there a couple years back . most all the dirt we worked in looked like overburden from some point in time .

So I had a little incident the last time out with the Euc and Volvo. I swapped out the 540 motor for a slower more powerful 550 in the Euc which I was very happy with. The speed was more realistic and the increased torque was great. The problem is that I have the mentality that if it "can do it" then it must be OK. Because the truck has more power and my Volvo is working good I started loading heavier and heavier loads so something had to give. The original diff that I built was a solid axle with aluminum Diawa spin casting reel gears so it bit the dust.
So.... I figured this was a good excuse to use my mill for the first time... As it turns out though most of the parts have been made on the lathe so far:rolleyes:.I do have a lot of parts to make yet though so I'm sure I will use it on the pinion carrier and such.. Thanks for looking! |
