Not a whole lot to report........I sent all of my body parts to Exclusive RC for paint, rivet work and more.

I did get these very nice mud flaps and aluminum 1/4 fenders with matching Peterbilt logos. The mud flaps are from Exclusive RC and the 1/4 fenders from Metal Hobi. Hope to get them mounted this weekend.

OK I've been away a little while but those quarter fenders are awesome, do they work for the tamiya? Who is this metal hobi? Do they have any Tamiya parts?

Claus 02-18-2017 05:07 PM

Re: Just Another Peterbilt

Hey Bricknick, you will need to drill new holes but, yeah they work on a Tamiya truck, check out Northern Farmer's truck.

Here you go......

Only been 3 months, I wish it were done but it's not. Hopefully it will be perfect which is more important than done fast. :)

I love this grille but these ears and the hood ornament are so delicate not sure if I want to buy another or look else where. This is the most detailed grille I have ever seen.

I broke mine also ! I had to mill down the bar under the head light due to the fact that it hits the shapeways fenders and I got in a hurry . Man it's heart breaking

Well, I lost all of my photobucket photos. Here is what the truck looked like at that point.

I hope to get the body parts back from paint shop soon. I added a rear bumper from Reg and changed out my rear suspension kit to the one with the plastic leaves and red links. The red links are ugly. I used the steel optional leaves the kit includes, truck has good travel and is nice and stiff in the rear.

Thanks NF! Yes Craig's trailer is sitting here ready to go but just needs tires from RC4WD, hopefully they get back in stock soon. I want pictures Craig, once your truck and trailer meet up!

Thanks,
Darwin

Craig, Truck is looking great, and with that trailer this is going to be a great looking combination, I'm looking forward to seeing the completed setup.

I wondered where you got your front tow pin and rear pintal tow hooks from?

Thank you, and again, a great looking truck so far.

Jim

Got some photos back from the body guy. Since photobucket bit the dust I don't know how to post photos the right way, sorry. Flickr won't let me post some of my photos a all and I don't know how to rotate these from Tinypic.

Hopefully I will have a running truck someday.

Darwin uses the LoRider or Lo Pro tires on His drop deck trailers. Been out of stock for quite a while now.
