The frame length is perfect on her as well...(Yes I do like frames under a 400" wheel base) Good Job my friend. ~Mike~ |

Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Hey guy's,I have a few progress pics!
I still have to put chrome rings on the air cleaners, add emblems, and several other things.I hope to be done this weekend. I goofed up big time.....I forgot about using the Kenworth door handles:mad: I didn't realize what I did until I got out the sprue from the kit. Oh well it's to late know. I also changed my mind on the paint scheme, and went with the reinier not the seminole. Trying to tape off the seminole was getting me pissed,so I took the easy way out.:( http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02809.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02811.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02812.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02815.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02820.jpg |

Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth

|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Wow!!!! What a stunning truck. Proportions, paint, details.. Everything is perfect.
Well done! Cheers Pip |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
yep that some mean truck
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Oh man that looks great! Using the Monogram kit for the detail parts is a great idea.
Brian |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Stunning you did a great job on it.
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Troy, This for sure helps me make my final decision on what truck to build next! I was even thing of a blue similar to what you used, now I may have to switch. Fabulous job, Sir!! The grill is from JTS correct?
Ben |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Wow. You really laid a beautiful coat of paint on there! I can't wait to see all the little bits and pieces installed, and this truck completed. Very nice work Troy!
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
That is beautiful Troy:D:D:D, It's still not to late to install the KW door handles you could start again as I'm use there would be a buyer for the raw cab:D:D
So what are the plans for the rest of the Monogram kit any thing interesting ??? Cheers Tracy |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
 Troy I want that truck :p looks great  just think soon you will not have to play musical wheels :p
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Wow man you knocked it outta the park, I think the idea of using the monogram kits is a great idea if u can get em. I have two complete trucks the red kw and the yellow Pete kit, missing a few pieces that had broken off. I will be using wedico parts to replace the missing pieces.
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Thanks for all of the comment's.....thats one of the things driving me to finish!
The grill is from JTS (Joe's Truck Stop). I Still need to install lens's in the rear, make a back window, and install the mfu. Here are a few more pics for the heck of it! http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02831.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02830.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02829.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02828.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02827.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02826.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02824.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02823.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02821.jpg I still need to learn how to do paint and body work:(. Tracy,I may build another one some day.....if so the handles will be the first thing I do. |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
That's one beautiful rig. Love the stance on her...low and mean.
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Wow troy that's one sweet kenny the paint looks great and steve's wheels set it off !!! Its perfect , nice job !!!
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Thanks Shane,and hauler 10-4!
I forgot my 1/4 fenders:eek: http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02837.jpg |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
troy they say chrome don't get you home but it sure makes you look good getting there ! quarter fenders sure made the difference . this truck will complement your bad azz fleet for sure
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
How about a drop visor? Not a huge one but something better than that plastic thing on that beautiful truck. Just my opinion.
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Troy, I like it very much. If you put this up for sale, I and everyone else would be waiting in line to buy it. Very nice. What a beauty! I have to second Craig's thought. She really does need a little bigger drop visor.
Great job polishing out those mill marks on the grill. I didn't think it was possible, but you accomplished it nicely. That's one thing that sort of turns me off to those machined grills. Touch of red paint on the grill emblem yet to come? How much do you want for that rig? :D |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
WOW!!! Troy that is bad to the bone!! I third the idea on the drop visor, it would take one mean looking truck and make it meaner!! Keep it up dude!
Brian |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Thanks guys......I agree on the visor,I just need to find someone that can make
me one. I still have some little details to do,and red or blue in the emblem is one of them. As far as selling it.......every thing is for sale:D,but I spent allot of time out in my 107 degree garage, and aprox. five 1.75 bottles of crown royal to get it finished. |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
troy this truck is amazing let me know if you let it go:D
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
I'm sure there are others here that can build nice visors buy Stepside Rod is working on one for my Wedico right now, might want to ask him.
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
This thing turned out perfect Troy.. NICE work... Talk to Brian he made my visor.
~Mike~ |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
That is a good looking truck just the way it is. The colors and chrome set it off.
Ken |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Troy this is now officially my new favourite truck, outstanding work! You're putting me to shame with all the trucks you've built while I'm still on my first one! I am making some slow progress though. Seeing cool trucks like this one makes me want to hurry up and get mine done!
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Now that you have changed your avatar are you going to change your name? Sneaky Pete wouldn't look right on a Kenworth.

Thanks for the comment's guy's Nick my favorite is still Brian's day cab..........he does rivets for God sakes! I hope you guys don't mind, but I'M drunk and felt like taking pictures:cool: I got my tank straps, and my back window done......all I have left to do is install the mfu and light this b*tch up. http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02862.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02861.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02860.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02859.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02857.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02855.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02853.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02851.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02849.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC02847.jpg |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Very nice Troy, looks great pulling the bottom dump. How about Caniving Kenworth? Will you be working on the Pete with the walk in sleeper next, can't wait to see that one finished up.
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
My next project is a NHRA transporter,w/generator bunk, canopy, work benches,
lighting, and that kind of stuff. I have a 1/16 scale funny-car,and dragster to use for the car. I just have not decided witch one to model (oakley funny car or budwieser dragster? My next project will be a truck and trailer......with hydro-graphics!!! |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
What is there to say but beautiful , love the blue and white with the silver trim lines, as they say the devil is in the detail.
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
A very nice rig indeed! But, loose the MFU. Install Servonaut and get a much better driving experience.
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
I very much believe in the fact that sometime the first idea is not always the best one and the end results is much better. I think this one came out great and the color is just amazing. Great truck.
