Re: 140H Grader
Great looking work, it's hard to remember that alot of the parts are wood they look so good.
|

Re: 140H Grader
You were not joking when you said you had been pulling lots of line yesterday.. Looks great Robbert nice work.. Oh and I got my project working too..

Re: 140H Grader
Can't wait to see it in person! Has to be your best build to date!!
|
Re: 140H Grader
Going nutty with the hydos eh? That will be a grader I'll have to see someday !
I just moved the frame of my 1930 Caterpillar Motor Patrol grader into the shop yesterday. I want to get it ready to be sand blasted so I can start the restoration. |
Re: 140H Grader
This is gone be a great model.
Really like the high level of detail. I am very comfortable with metal but with wood never in a 100 years i could do what you are doing. Hard to believe there is wood under there , never thought you could finish that so smooth. Keep us updated on this super project and thanks for the pics so far. Eef |
Re: 140H Grader
awsome work can't wait to see it working

Re: 140H Grader
Looks great. You're not meticulous by chance are you (haha)? I can't wait to see this one full functioning and in person.
What servos are you using for the valve block? Ben |

Re: 140H Grader
that will be a good restoration project. I have loved mechanics all my life and the way intricate parts work together. It might take me a lil longer to build a model like this, but i try to make function as close to the real machine as possible.

Re: 140H Grader
Rob, you're moving right along and man it looks good. What is the ETA on this build? I can't wait anymore. We have to get together again, soon.

Re: 140H Grader
Hey Joe, its good to hear from ya. I am working on the cab and interior....today, I painted the inside with the sand tone, tomorrow I will prime and paint the outside. I made the windows and got them on the dorrs today. If the weather holds as far as temp. and low humidity, this should all be done by the wknd.
|
Re: 140H Grader
This looks really wonderful!
The care you took in the appearance of the circle gearbox and the lattice(?) work on the back of the moldboard-carrier - sweet! How strong is the circle rotation? |
Re: 140H Grader
90% complete....I still have several pieces to make and add some lights. Finish detailing the cab interior, add details to the control column and make arms rest for the seat.

Re: 140H Grader
All I can say is you built a "MASTERPIECE". I just gasp in aaahhh:D
I can't add anything that hasn't been said, you're da man:) Big John |
Re: 140H Grader
Holy Crap!...WOW It is a true master piece..
|
Re: 140H Grader
Rob you have done a spectacular job on that grader. I like the way all the functions work, you have done tour self proud. Ed
|
Re: 140H Grader
Rob, You have truely outdone yourself this time! Except for the wood beams in the engine compartment, there is no way a persone would or could know that it is made from wood. This tops your sprayer and your cotton bale truck combined!! :D Now I just need to see it in person!
|
Re: 140H Grader
Truly a museum masterpiece. But you've taken the next step and made it operate as well. What have you got on your plate to top this one.
Rob |
Re: 140H Grader
Wonderful :)
Had seen the video before (or one like it?) but not the details of the cab. IMO that level of detail just puts this over the top (in a good way)! |
Re: 140H Grader
Awesome :D
It's very good looking, and it seems to operate very well. |
Re: 140H Grader
:) What a great model - looks, operation, detail - all just awesome. I'd never believe it started life as a tree! Wood is such an unexpected medium for a working machine, but when done so well, who'd a thunk it!
Kudos for such a wonderful project! Ken |
