Joe, can´t wait see it in action. What´s the weight of the D9? Do you have a pic on that leather sweep and will you put in some similar in the apron?
Sorry for all question but you are running into problems that I could expect to happen with my models, guess I just sitt and wait for you to solve it, just kidding!
It´s project like this one and others on this forum that keeps myself trying to get something done,
hat of, I ´m impressed.

Thanks guys, the dozer is 97 lbs. Dan. I'll try and get a pic on the leather strip up soon. Not sure what I'm going to do on the apron yet, probly play with a few things.

Still running some numbers on the next build, Henry but I have narrowed my options to 2 machines. Now just got to deside which one.

Joe, I would like to do a blade but the tire thing keeps blowing out of the water. Also thought about a 988 loder, just need tires.
I just ran a few numbers on a 385 trackhoe, it would be HUGE AT 63'' in length with the boom folded up and set on the ground. It would look ever so cool. So I'm not sure what to do, besides I told my self after faking so much on the scraper that the next thing I build, I will have all the pics I need in order to do it right. There aren't any around here to get enough pics of.

Looks realy good Joe, hope I can have a video to show someday, I feel like a slow builder comparing to some of you guys. But results like yours here makes me try harder.
keep it up, looking forward for more videos.

Joe, I know that you discussed the need of some sort spring for the tracks, do you, or some one else know how much force this needs to have??

Dan, here is a pic of the leather sweeps to keep the roller rails clean.
http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/f...9/HPIM1469.jpg

I had planed on making a video today but had some problems when the dozer through a drive chain on one of the motors and all that torque is good until the chain raps up on the sprocket and then it gets ugly quick. Burnt up some small ground wires and twisted the motor around in the mount. But it is all fixed now so maybe when my nephew comes down next weekend I can get another video. Unless I can get my wife to do a video for me sooner.

The new apron works well except for the side of the apron are still binding so I'm going to cut them down and that should fix that little problem.

I was going to use high performance valve springs out of a Harley but just woundup just using 2 set screws on each side.

Someone had asked me what scale this is in, it's 1/10.

J Hall 10-03-2010 09:53 PM

Re: D9R and 463 pull scraper

1/10 scale...Thanks Joe

Re: D9R and 463 pull scraper

Dirtpusher9, I'm new around here and am very curious about about the tracks and under carriage on your CAT. Did use roller chain or??
Thanks Love the setup.

dirtpusher9 10-05-2010 08:36 PM

Re: D9R and 463 pull scraper

I used 1 1/4'' x 1 1/4'' x 1/8'' ''T'' steel for the tracks, 13 different operations per pad.

I used double pitch half links for the rails.

Steve , to do what joe did ,I would need the same size 1.25 x 1.25 x 1/8 . prob is I have this want to make them look exactly like the real pads . I'm thinking of putting a horizontal mill cutter on my lathe w a vice on the cross feed and mill them . unless your up to it like you did for your I beams :p How big of T do you have ? PM or call . I could do what I want ,with 1.5 or 1.75 would be easier . got this project just about off the drawing board just some lil details . Sorry Joe I'm hijacking :o
