Look's great Brian, can't wait for more pics.

I was wondering does the 1.2 rivets look more to scale? I think i used the 1.6 on mine.

Thanks fellas!! Mike I chose the 1.2 rivets because they were real close the tamiya molded rivets.

I really like the tank steps. I've been thinking about how I can get some machined up for my Wedico. I like that they are different. Most of the time you see the battery box steps, but tanks are a nice change. Your's turned out great.

The only problem I see is the frame is not yellow. :D What happened?

Re: Pete 357 tri-axle dump update 8/7/11

Please feel free to shoot me down in flames if I'm wrong, but maybe the aircleaners look higher or at least different because it's a 357 rather than a 379, so I believe the hood slopes compared with the straight hood of a 379, and it may be shorter too. Maybe that's why it looks different??

Brian in PA 08-17-2011 09:22 PM

Re: Pete 357 tri-axle dump update 8/7/11

Nick you are correct about the hood being shorter and sloped. The 357 is the same as a 379 short hood except for the 357 is fiberglass instead of aluminum as found on both 379's reg, and ex hood models. My truck had the Donaldson breathers instead of the Vortox ones. The Vortox units are alot bigger but sit lower on the cowl for some reason. The Vortox AC's also go down to the bottom edge of the cab an most of the trucks I have seen.

Hey Brian! You're doing a unbelievable job!!! It looks awsome! I was wondering how you mounted the uprights down the side of the dump body?

Re: Pete 357 tri-axle dump update 8/24/11

Thanks! I mounted them from the inside using screws.

Great job Brian. Good to see your going with Hrydo's instead of a screw drive. Its so much more scale looking. What pump are you going to use? I need to find a mini pump for the folding disc i been building.

Jeremy, I am using the UMS pump. Its real cheap and works great for this application.

Brian, I really like the tank steps. Did you cut the vertical step uprights by hand?

That gear reducer fits pretty well. Glad to see it was the answer to your problems. I read your other thread, asking about it, with interest.

Brian;

I looked for the other thread on your gear reducer but could not find it. Is it for spur gears or belts?

Nathan, thanks, I cut those by hand, but I cheated. I found some material that already had the circle cut in it, so all I had to do is cut out the step bracket from it. It was a very time consuming task! I'm still not completely happy with the screws but I had trouble drilling/tapping anything smaller, so that will have to do... for now.

Thanks.
