Looks good RW . Now you got the 11 in the right way  What size pump did you get ? just curious  . Oh I've been tryin to get a hold of you to ask how you attached the servo horn to the valves ( bangs head into wall ) Drill center out , make spacer or get flat head screw for valve ? My thinkin is the servo horn should but right against the the valve horn .

Missed your call Steve, I'll get ahold of you. On the valve the servo spline should just slip into the horn that is attached to valve. Some pics would be helpful for me to show you, give me some time and I'll try and get some pics of what I'm talking about. I use the smaller flow pump from premacon. Almost all models don't need the bigger one, this is one exception as I probably could use the higher volume on the bigger pump to lift bed slightly faster. But again I haven't messed with speed or any fine tuning yet.

On my D6 , I put my pump on the rotary knob on my DX8 spektrum radio . I have the speed real low .

Can't wait to watch you build a ramp, and drive the dozer into the half filled truck for transport to the next job site!

On your piston design change, did you go from weld to a drilled cross hole with a pin? And then did you have to weld on the other end of the o ring cap? All these pictures makes me want to try machining something similar. Thanks for the photos!

Jim

Thanks!! Jim, I'll try and get some pics of inners on the cylinders to better describe what I did

I was able to cut a slot in the one tank for cylinders to clear and had to make a new cover for the gauge side.

And getting ready to give the neighbors a light show. I know they want to report me for something bad,,, welding late at night, bright flashes emitting from the garage all hours of the night :). And they don't have any idea I'm making Rc toys!! I think all the neighbors that still know me from back having bikes still hate me:).

Refer to the movie "The Burbs" with Tom Hanks when the creepy neighbor was doing something in their basement at night with electricity.

Yes the dozer has been useful for projects around house, as long as they don't need done in a timely manner:).

Rain today so looks like some shop time. :).
http://i1357.photobucket.com/albums/...pssmgqvvco.jpg

Starting on hand rails. I know the front grate isn't quite scale looking but with the brake I have I just can't get two bends that close. Wanted to have six ribs but three will have to do. Not wanting to make up a press jig just for that. And with steps and handrails it will not be noticeable. (At least for me) ;).

Coming along very nicely. Rain here as well but I work inside everyday. Can't use rain for an excuse to work on my projects.

Position the 1st rail, make your cuts; then using center finder bit to position next rail in mill set up?

Cooper 10-13-2016 06:18 PM

Re: Great Dane excavating co.

On the steps I made them just like rise and run of building regular steps. Just by luck I went with 10 steps including top so my measure of 6 1/4" was .625 rise on each step. I used the edge finder for edge of step stringer and some angle blocks to position on table. Then just moved mill .625 for every step and a tread of .85. Nine times for each stringer. Like in that pic I sent you joe I needed a large flat surface and had to remove the vise to get it. once the math is done that's when the dro really helps out. Just hit zero move to next one ,,,repeat.

A cats life, if your the right cat in the right house or work shop you can't beat it!

So are the step treads tac welded to the uprights from the bottom?

Well now you brought up the animals not working I thought you may get a kick out of our fawn Great Danes Halloween costume. The pic is not him but from a facebook friend of my wife's. I think she ordered it already. :)

Oh and yes I'm going to be tacking the steps, maybe a dab on topside to smooth out where I cut .

Going to try and make handrails from alum, I found the right temp and way to get some right angles, without stress breaking it. Don't know what type of alum it is but it's what I had around shop. The pieces on top are just some test pieces ibent up.

And a pic for Mario, look it's just like what's in your shop at work, hood is off and pulled motor!!! I know you are probably busy moving,, something that isn't fun after you start doing it!!! But it will pay off later:)

Only thing missing is all the dirt , grease and crud ! :)
Ya, was busy moving and cleaning but now the house is sitting, no sale yet:(. Lucky we kinda already "own" the new house and able to move most of our crap over there already but the RC shop has been closed and kinda second fiddle for a few months now.
If the house don't sell by end of November, I'm hunkering down in the old basement and get some work done! I was smart... Haven't packed up my man cave operation yet for just this situation. :D

Had to look at it a couple times to realize that it was a Dane! My LHS has a big red long hair cat that they shave like a lion during the summer, who ever does it, does an excellent job, looks just like a miniature lion.

Re: Great Dane excavating co.

Well scratch that 1/8" aluminum hand rails!! Pretty hard for me to weld, just one wrong twitch with the hand or foot pedal and poof!! Instead of welding pieces together I now have a big gap between them!!! So some rails are alum, ones that are back welded to cab and ladder. The others are steel. Proving to be difficult to secure or clamp while tacking. :).
