I guess you look online to see what the rated voltage is for the track & pump motors you're powering & don't exceed that.
The Jung pump in my Vario is running about 4000rpm (4s 16,8v @600kv, motor is 10,800rpm with a 2,5:1 belt reduction), and I only rev it to the max (or near it) on boom lift. Stick, bucket & boom down is 1/2 to 2/3's of that :confused:
Other guys are running their Vario hoes with 3s... that's a bit slow for me.

I was working on my hydraulics to day setting them up and I notice that the motor/pump was arcing to my tank. Has anyone had this problem And how did you correct it.

Do you mean electrical arcing? i had something wierd happen once when my receiver antenna touched the pump housing it sparked and fried the aerial a bit, only ever happened once though and never found out why.

Here's a pic of hydraulics in tractor. Now it doesn't seen to arc when it's installed only when I have it out side tractor.

I have a new problem. Hmmm. Anyone getting annoyed with me yet. For some resin one of my valves is only working for one direction. When I first hooked it up it worked but after using it a little bit it stopped. I first though that a line may have been plugged or the piston I have taken everything apart and there is no plugs. I even took valve all apart to check it and it's not plugged. I thought that I might have valve together wrong and it's not the case. I am stumped. Could a crack in the valve cause something like this. Has anyone had issues like this? Help please.

Did you make sure to center each valve before installing the servos?

What's the servo doing? Is it making the full rotation either way? Does the problem happen with the mix on... something in your programming is limiting the servo from turning the valve?

If you do decide it's a problem with the valve, send it back to Premacon for them to look at & determine the cause.

I've never experienced such a problem with a failing valve.

I would also have a look at the servo as I have had new servos fail, the gear would strip in one spot for no reason. I put another servo in and all was fine.

Well after a lot of frustration. I looked at it again and the servo was not working right. Thanks for the help I needed to step back and your suggestions were right on.

That's cool!!! I wish I was that far along!!! I don't know much about the hydraulics, are you using two valves for the blade tilt? And how is your mix if u are? And I'm getting ready to put some wood floors in my house, I bet the wife would love for me to have a pile of fresh dry dirt in the living room!!! That would be my ultimate playpen!! (Uh and maybe the cats too,, would need excavator to deal with them!!). :)

You've got some more fab work to do yet, eh ;)... like fill in the gap between the idlers to spread the weight over the entire track for better traction. :)

RCLogger used strip of hard plastic, maybe puck board, along the bottom length between idlers & just simulated rollers by cutting out the C channel. This dozer is 6yrs old & as far as I know he's never changed the plastic strips... but of course this is a smaller lighter dozer than what you have built.

Are your tracks spring tensioned at all?

You might want to fab up some track guards too to keep the dirt/rocks out of your links.

I am using two valves at the moment I am having trouble with equal speed between pistons. I am planing on only using one for front blade as I want to add a ripper to back. Far as mixing yes but still learning. I maybe farther along then you but your detail is awesome. I am limited on equipment. At lest that's what I will use for excuse. Lol. I had a bucket of traction sand so I dumped it out in my shop. Not house lol wife wouldn't of liked that.

Yes I still have some fabricating to do. I made some small ideler wheels but not sure if I have room to use them. I was thinking of using nylon i didn't realize that's how Greg did it. I am waiting to get to my father he has some thick nylon hope to get there to see him soon. You have a good eye for detail. I just couldn't wait to try it. I haven't had a lot of time to work on it latly. Hope to have more time in the near future.

Great job so far...nice to see it pushing some dirt!!!

I agree with Lil Giants comment on using a plastic slider idea to ride on the track chain... I used it on my dozer and so far it works great !!
