Thanx... ;)
Now the last piece of the cab is done. Last steps will be the winker on the front venders, the fifth wheel and the electronics. http://up.picr.de/31819934il.jpg http://up.picr.de/31819937wq.jpg http://up.picr.de/31819941kc.jpg http://up.picr.de/31819943nb.jpg http://up.picr.de/31819946lw.jpg http://up.picr.de/31819951ht.jpg http://up.picr.de/31819955zf.jpg |
Re: Custom build of a Kenworth C509 as autralian roadtrain
Your hard work is showing in spades Peter
What's the wheelbase? |
Re: Custom build of a Kenworth C509 as autralian roadtrain
Hi Joe,
thanx ;) The distance between middle of the front axle and the first rear axle is 334mm. |
Re: Custom build of a Kenworth C509 as autralian roadtrain
Hi...
Another small piece is done, the front winker. Small pieces but round about 6 hours of work. Here are some pictures http://up.picr.de/31870130mp.jpg http://up.picr.de/31870136pu.jpg http://up.picr.de/31870146cj.jpg http://up.picr.de/31870151ss.jpg |

Re: Custom build of a Kenworth C509 as autralian roadtrain
Hi...
Thanx... ;) During the last days I worked on the fifthwheel. It will beopened by a servo and a switch is added from the MFC so that my own board is able to detect the connect. The modified fifthwheel http://up.picr.de/31951317fx.jpg The carrier (??? correct word ???) http://up.picr.de/31951291jg.jpg http://up.picr.de/31951294zs.jpg http://up.picr.de/31951297tt.jpg Mounted fifthwheel http://up.picr.de/31951301vf.jpg http://up.picr.de/31951302ed.jpg http://up.picr.de/31951304pm.jpg Its place on the truck http://up.picr.de/31951307dt.jpg http://up.picr.de/31951308eg.jpg http://up.picr.de/31951315by.jpg |

Amazing work, Sir.

Re: Custom build of a Kenworth C509 as autralian roadtrain
that is great work i have 1 question do you have locking diffs ?
|
Re: Custom build of a Kenworth C509 as autralian roadtrain
Hi...
One axle has a self made lock activated by a servo and I must test it on the Track. The second axle will be modified if it works. |
Re: Custom build of a Kenworth C509 as autralian roadtrain
AWESOME! If it works, will you be posting video, &/or pics of how to do the diff locking mod(s)?
|
Re: Custom build of a Kenworth C509 as autralian roadtrain
Mine are currently locked permanently. I used the old trick of adding an extra gear into the rear diff to do it. There are times I wish I was able to lock, & unlock without taking the diff apart!

Re: Custom build of a Kenworth C509 as autralian roadtrain
She's all coming together. That's a lot of dedication!
