Scars on the other hand..... I'm not so comfy with.,

The truck looks and works great Kent . Nice job, I'd love something like that in my open pit.

It's a quarry truck Mario, how many have you seen without scars? :D I'd like to bring it up and run it in your pit someday, it'll move a lot of product!

Izzy wasn't that bad at loading, needling him a little! You don't want me using the excavator!! You would be replacing parts not just have some scars

The same. He's the the only Nate I've seen run an excavator and load trucks in person.

Re: 6X6 Quarry Dump Truck

I decided to update the box on this truck. I had a 4x8 sheet of styrene curled up in the corner not doing anything. Then I figured I'd try a screw drive. Took the existing box and LESU scissor lift off and sit it aside for use on a trailer.
Here's my progress on the lift parts:

Re: 6X6 Quarry Dump Truck

Just a suggestion on you screw drive. On mine I found that the furniture drive nuts didn't last long being metal on metal. I just replaced the slider block and drilled and taped right through with the thread. Delron itself is very slippery and I find I can lift a bigger load faster with the new block. One thing though is you have to have a very sharp tap as it doesn't cut the best if it's dull

Thanks Rob good to know. This is my first shot a screw drive so I'm kinda playing as I go to see what tweaks I need to do. I still need to figure out my lift cylinder/rod length and how to attach it to the Delron. I like that LESU left but I figured it was time to learn how to do this.:D

That motor will have TONS of power for a truck box! Looking good!

I'm looking forward to running it, it's quiet and smooth but it looks a little slow. It's 165 RPM@ 12V I'll try it but will probably go with the next RPM which is 300+. For the near future this thing will be mostly hauling ground rubber which isn't that heavy so the loss of power shouldn't matter much.

It's been a while but I'm still updating this build. I've got the new dump box on it. Those that showed up at the Lebanon meet seen it. Made the front bumper and grille gaurd, they aren't done yet but are getting close. Next on the list for this build will be, finish the dump box with some details, improve my tailgate latch, make a hydraulic tank and mud guards for it.

Thanks guys, I need to make a couple pieces for the grill guard yet, put some lights in the bumper and some kind of tow hook or D rings on it.

Re: 6X6 Quarry Dump Truck

Finished the grill guard and mounted it to the bumper today, a little clean up and it's ready for paint.

So I'm done with list for now. I'm looking for a scale looking battery box for left side, D rings for the front bumper and need to put taillights in the rear, but I have other projects I really want to get to like the pup trailer for this thing and the list goes on!

Thanks Egronvold, As soon as I decide what to build or buy to load this thing I think I'll start my own quarry.
