Hi Reg,

Are you able to let me know a bit more details on the motors you used? i.e rpm, torque, price, where did you get em? I was looking on the dx.com website..there are some good deals, but having a hard time to decide..I am assuming you have all 4 controlled by a single esc...any advice would be appreciated...thanks!

Hey Blair, I bought the motors off of eBay but I have also bought them off of Amazon and from Robot Shop. These last ones from eBay look exactly like the rest but have different motors(windings I guess). I forget the numbers off the top of my head but lets just say the normal motors I use are a something, something S and the new motors are just something, something. Needless to say they do not have the same power even though they look identical. They do however seem to have an adequate amount for this particular model though, I just would have liked more.lol Anyway, what I am running are 25mm diameter, 77rpm, 6 volt motors. I can dig up a link to the ones I purchased if you like. So many sellers have the same or nearly the same stuff for sale. I bought these last ones because they were under $10 a piece and had free shipping. I won't buy them again but they are doing the job. I also have the same type in my Bruder Mack but use 133rpm ratio. Hope this rambling helps...

OK so this one is for you Mario! One hand crafted, TIG welded, stainless steel exhaust tip to replace the repulsive, ugly, plastic, Gonzo nosed factory piece on my loader.lol

Reg, you need a diode in the lead of the beeper. To make it quieter, put a band aid over it!

I tried a diode on either end facing either way and it would either make it not work at all or do the same as in the video. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong? Maybe a different diode? It's gotta work somehow Neil!

Reg, I think you needed a higher voltage rating on the diode,

Nice work on the Bruder, I am in the midst of ordering parts to convert mine. I like your idea for the motors because I too am somewhat of a hoarder of small items and have some old stainless steel solar light tubes.

My question to you is how did you fasten the motors in the tubes so they don't spin in the tubes under torque?

Thanks. The tubes are split to fit over the motors and I just used electrical tape the close it up tight. On the rollers I converted recently, I used the same setup but instead of tape I used some really heavy shrink tube. Either way seems to hold the motors fine with no slippage.

If you don't mind me asking. What actuators are those? How do the esc's hook up to the actuators and motors, and also what controller/receiver/transmitter are you using?

Firgelli actuators. They are L12S 6V. 2-50mm and 1-30mm. Most guys use the L16 actuators because they are stronger. They are also a bit bigger on the motor end and 12V only which I didn't like. They hook up just like any brushed motor. I'm using a DX6i and an Orange RX receiver on this one. ESC's are the cheap ones from Hobbyking. They work perfect for under 9V and they are just over $10US.
