Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth update 12/6
Hey boys and girls,
I have decided to build a sleeper for my KW,but it's not permanent:eek: The sleeper is removable, and so is the headache rack. The sleeper slides over the headache rack, and looks like it's attached! I still have to paint it,and add lights.I have not decided wether to add a window in the back or not:confused: Anyway here are a few pics. http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC03731.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC03736.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC03735.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC03734.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC03737.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/DSC03733.jpg |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Rookie window...then put a visor over the top of it..:D:D:cool::cool:
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
That truck is sweet in all configurations! doesnt really matter in my opinion! looks more old school with the sleeper!
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Sweet!!! great idea for the "slip over sleeper"!! I just noticed some of more of your detail troy. The front hub detail is killer!
Brian |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
The sleeper is a great idea and just perfect.. And to be able to have the best of both worlds makes it even better..
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Have to agree with Brian, that sleeper is very innovative thinking. Sleeper for long hauls and day cab for quick errands. Ingenious.
Tyler |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
That's a great idea! It looks good both ways, so this is the best of both worlds. I'd say put a rear window in the sleeper, with a matching visor, like the front. That'd be cool.
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
What a great idea Troy! Looks great in either configuration.
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
That is a work of art, well done!
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Thank's for the comments guys!
I will be building a better sleeper for it when I get settled into the new house. I was just bored and still had a few tools that wern't packed.....and decided to play around with the idea. More pics to come after it is painted! |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
I really dig the old school look of that truck, so to add the awesome single sleeper just really completes the look. Not to mention I'm more of a sleeper guy anyways. it looks great, nice job
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Very nice!! I love the look! That will be one sweet ride!!
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Ok I got my sleeper painted, but it is all messed up:mad:It was to cold.
I don't have time to fix it because I am moving this week. Sorry for the bad pix, they are off my phone......the camera is packed! http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/IMG_0292.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/IMG_0293.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...5/IMG_0295.jpg |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
oh man that turned out awesome! i cant stop starring at it! i just love kenworths and thats just frikin awesome! how exactly is the sleeper held on just by the headache rack it looks like to me which is sweet for easy removal! hope thats not a dumb ? as the picture exsplains it but i might not be seing something!
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
I love the way you guys turn these Tamiyas in such beautiful trucks, can't even see the starting line any more.
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Troy, if that's a messed up paint job, on that sleeper, I have to ask what your 'good' paint jobs look like. I can't see any flaws! Now I'm not sure which I like better. The truck as a day cab, or the truck with it's slip over sleeper.
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
troy that tractor is awsome both ways, love the old school paint job ! someone should do a movin on version of the paint . nice job neil
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
This thing is a true work of art! love the slip over sleeper idea and excellent choice of colors that blue and white work great together :)
|
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth

Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Simpley beautiful...and what's wrong with the paint???
I love the whole concept of the KW..."PUUUUUUUURFECT":D:D:D:D Big John |
Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
Troy you have taken a perfect truck and made it better, if that's possible! I love this thing, the old school look, the stance, it all comes together beautifully!!! The detail is just stunning! Love it! However there is one problem with this truck.....I don't own it!:D:D:D:D

Re: Starting my daycab Kenworth
for a "bad" paint job on the sleep it looks petty good
