Hi Guys,
Here is the latest from the last week or so. Soon the tin work start. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iljvBgikUGw |
Re: D11 New Project
Very nice work Paul it seems to work real good. You are getting closer to being finished, have you got all 3 of them to this point? Keep up the good work. Ed

Re: D11 New Project
:bounce: I think you should be very pleased and proud of these dozers. You are doing what most just dream of. Workmanship on these vehicles is top notch.

#2 is rolling no hydraulics. #3 can roll ( the drive motors are fitted) but is last on the list. Once #1 is running and tested more work will start on the other two, all of the hydraulics for the three are here, I think one more speed controller and a couple of transmitters, but just in those few things are $$$$$ :(and the extra time will allow more time to save and test (play) with #1:D. The most common types of trade fairs in Florence are Textiles, Fashion and Clothing Industry. In addition to the current trade fairs, Sights & Attractions in Florence can also be visited. After Friedrichshafen my Wife and I will be going to tour around Switzerland, Italy, France, Austria and Germany. Who else is going to Fiedrichshafen in Germany November 2014??? |
Re: D11 New Project
What's the width of the blade?
Thongs in the metal fab shop  is it next to the beach? |
Re: D11 New Project

And yes thongs (or so called Chinese safety boots) in a metal shop, after spending all week in boots its good to have the feet out :bounce: Oh and the beach is only about 15mins away:D I have now set up a transmitter to enable it to drive and have all of the Hydraulics working, so if there is no work this weekend there maybe a chance to put in the dirt and work it, (fingers crossed) Paul |
Re: D11 New Project
Joe, When I first read thongs I thought maybe I had missed a picture where he was bent over showing a lot more than just a plumbers crack. Then I realised you were referring to his choice in footware. Us southern folks call those flip flops. For a split second I was afraid this thread had taken a turn to the kinky side. :D:D:D

Re: D11 New Project
425mm? that's just a tad narrower than Joe's D9 blade in 10th... it'll be interesting to hear from you what all the dimensions are when one is completed to compare with. ;) This one is currently about half the weight.
Yes, I paused for a second after writing thongs, but that's always been the cdn term for them... imagine what my thought was a few yrs ago when I 1st heard the American womens' fashion trend of their thong showing above their pants??!!! it was WT? - till I saw a picture. |
Re: D11 New Project
Hey Joe you are spot on with calling them thongs for Australia, our friends in New Zealand also call them flip flops, so don't feel to bad
|
Re: D11 New Project
I'm looking forward to seeing this thing in action, Paul. Your doing a fine job, not that my approval means anything.

We will have to wait for another time for the dirt run, today the hydraulics came off to seal the rams as a couple had a weep . Now they are all 100%:bounce: The body work started today as well. It looks straight forward until you start trying to get all the angles correct  http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...psbd6e1a51.jpg http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4f45ac8d.jpg |
Re: D11 New Project

The blade width is 425mm. It was put on the scales today. The weight came in at 22kg, the only things to add to that will be the battery, electronics and a small amount of body work, so I am guessing a finished weight will be around 25kg |
Re: D11 New Project
Hi Paul it is realty taking shape now won't be long before you will be pushing dirt. Keep up the good work. Ed
