The roller chain K1 that I use is not flat on the inside, it is like bike chain. So I cheat and use teflon instead of rollers. It works well, very smooth and no drag, chain never plugs up. I seem to build equipment strong enough as I don't ever have break downs. but if something does break it is nice that I don't have to wait for parts like some folks are having..;)

Was at Greg's this afternoon for a preview. Seeing this model up close is amazing. This model is going to be a power house and a great runner. He's really mastered the art of fabricating models.

Greg that is a very nice job you are doing on the dozer it looks real good. I like the high track that is what I want to do to the Stahl dozer I got if I ever get all the pieces from Germany to finish it. keep up the good work. Ed;):)

I am planning on using a Liembach pump Joe. I am starting to search around for one, would be nice to get a half dozen of them..:D

I must say that the high track works very well. Mine has never plugged up with dirt as the sprocket is high and dry.. Usually by the time the chain makes its way to the sprocket most of the dirt has fallen off..

Sure looks like you could drag that through a lot of rock. How;d the bees wax work. Maybe you still need less teeth on the blade.

Great progress, Greg! I might have missed this, but what do you scale your models off of? A die-cast replica, or actual drawings? Maybe manuals with dimensions, or a combination of things? Do you have a spring tensioner for the track? One thing that I was really wondering about, and something I have never had the chance to check out on a 1:1 dozer is the tracks can walk or articulate up and down, right? There is usually a bar that oscillates in the undercarriage. With the high drive tracks, and the drive sprocket being fixed in location, if a track articulates up, the track would get looser? So some sort of automatic track tensioning system must be necessary?
