Re: Half round end dump trailer
I took a couple of pictures with it hooked to my old KW yesterday. It's the only truck I have with a fifth wheel. The dull aluminum body doesn't look very nice against this purdy white trailer. It's all boxed up now Doug and will be on it's way soon!

Re: Half round end dump trailer
a all white pete or k wopper would be sick pulling this

Re: Half round end dump trailer
I agree! This truck looks so drab in front of such a nice trailer. All white truck or white with stripes on truck and trailer would awesome!

Re: Half round end dump trailer

Re: Half round end dump trailer
I have a couple more of these on the go. The long one is for a customer and the other will be put up for sale once finished.
The larger one is 36" which is the max I can roll. My 36" machine is actually too small for this as it puts a lot of strain on it. After a few swear words, one bleeding knuckle and many passes through the rollers using cardboard to make up for them bowing in the center, I got it done. After bending up the other pieces I welded them on. Now they are both starting to look like something. http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...psngnu8n92.jpg http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...pscpiz8cy7.jpg Thanks for looking. |

Re: Half round end dump trailer
Another update on this one. The tub is pretty much finished now. I need to add mudflaps and then I can start on the tarp mechanism.

Re: Half round end dump trailer
your going to be getting a call from mac and summit trailers soon,
telling you to knock it off!!! your banging these trailers out real fast now |
Re: Half round end dump trailer
LOL, Maybe they will hire me to make a mini trailer to go with each full size! Yeah, probably not...
I thought I could knock this one out in a week since I had all of the lift parts pre-made but as usual it is taking longer than I hoped. Some of that is because of design changes but sometimes things need to be adjusted as you go along so I've learned to deal with it. I would rather it take longer than I thought and come out right than make it in a hurry and feel like I slapped it together. It would be nice if I could build one per week though. Then I wouldn't feel guilty about taking a whole weekend off! |
Re: Half round end dump trailer
I spent all day working on tarp mech parts. It seems I am being asked to do this more so I am trying to come up with a "system" instead of reinventing the wheel each time. Don't get me wrong, the parts will still be hand made and therefore be time consuming to make but at least I will be able to make multiple parts at once for my stockpile.
Yesterday I quickly made some pulleys and today I started out bending up two frames and making a template. I then machined up some motor mounts and began assembling pieces. It takes a fair bit of time to make all of this stuff from scratch so hopefully some of these parts will get me through a few trailers. http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...pssltm7b5x.jpg http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...psrygujfhx.jpg This one is a size reference for Bo... http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...psbag46viv.jpg http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...psyxyquqmr.jpg http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6dgkq6up.jpg Thanks for looking! |
