SO between paint getting messed up and getting the flatbed put back together i was working on a way to make the pipes mount to the rack as easy as possisble. heres what i came up with.. This is version 1 and im sure there will be a few before i try it with a set of S&P's pipes so heres a mock up with the old rack i made and some 1/2" copper.. Took a reg soup can and made some cuts http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...724_155714.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...724_155747.jpg Drilled some holes and added a screw making the loop as tight as poosible (and trust me the pipes are not going to move!!) http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...724_161845.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...724_161850.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...724_161902.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...724_161907.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...724_161915.jpg Just about as realistic as i can get with it without making a mount on the rack and bolting the strap to the mount on the rack like on the 1:1's What do ya think?? Ill prob make another 20 before i can get the 4 i need to be perfect... Thanks for looking |
Re: My Stretched globeliner
I think it looks great and very realistic the way it wraps around the the stack!! great idea!!! now i know were to get a bracket to hold my mud flaps to the other bracket.

SO came home from work sick today but didnt feel like sleeping so heres what i got done today. Put the hinges on the box that i started months ago and put a door on it. moved the rear axle on the flatbed back 1/2" and came up with this :D http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...726_200335.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...726_201721.jpg It will house this as i got some lights installed as well :) http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...726_202912.jpg So heres the lights for now equal on both sides 12 total http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...726_203059.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...726_203119.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...726_203826.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...726_203814.jpg Also got a few finishing details done on the lowboy as well http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...726_203601.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...726_203617.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...726_203701.jpg Heres both almost ready for indy! http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...726_203252.jpg Hoping to poss add a trailer light kit to both or one of the trailers so i have brake and turn signals.. both trailers only have side marker lights for now untill i figure out which route im going to go.. May make my own 6wire harness and light kit but using magnetic switches to turn on the lights.. Thanks for looking!! |
Re: My Stretched globeliner
Looking good!! As of now I should be able to get to see in person in Indy.
|
Re: My Stretched globeliner
Nice update Aaron. Th battery in the tool box is a good idea.
|
Re: My Stretched globeliner
Aaron, those two trailers are looking great behind the Globe. They would look great with the signals hooked up on them and would really finish this setup off well.
