Re: CAT 374D L
Amazing work, looking at your pump drive is it belt driven? if so what ratio and motor are you running?
|
Re: CAT 374D L
Wow! Simply awesome. Everything is so clean, so well designed, and so scale, it's just unbelievable! I've truly gotten my scale model fix for today! It should last me the rest of the week.

Re: CAT 374D L
I got all the hydraulics and batteries (two 3S 8000 mAh lipos) stuffed inside the 374 and made a little demo video:)
Next I might go and dig a few holes in the garden ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8w0v...ature=youtu.be |
Re: CAT 374D L
Beautiful! It runs as nice as it looks! Looking forward to seeing it digging in some dirt.

Re: CAT 374D L
That is one of the greatest scale models I have ever seen have you though of making a quick coupler for it and additional attachments?'
|
Re: CAT 374D L
Thanks guys for your nice words:o:)
I made another video with some load in the bucket (as Joe hoped), and move all the cylinders at the same time to show the speed of the hydraulics. It is not too fast, but I can live with that:( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elryl...ature=youtu.be |
Re: CAT 374D L
I think the speed is perfect!
|
Re: CAT 374D L
I think hydraulic speed is ok :) , by the way Ari can you show me your cnc tool it's made a perfect job with your best skill.

Re: CAT 374D L
Hi Ari! You have created an incredible model so far and I believe to share the same thoughts as everybody also in the forum. You are going to finish it at its best just the way you do every time. You are very talented men and always adding extra star to the forum. The speed is just perfect, it’s a big machine and as that, it`s suppose to have more power than speed and you already have it. I do have question dough. Do you have plans to make it just for you as a hobby or planning to produce it so we can have that pleasure too? Thanks for sharing your talents and hoping that you have lots of enjoyment with this unique machine of yours.:)

This is just a hobby and I don't have any plans to start a mass production of these machines. |
Re: CAT 374D L
I dug my first ditch with the 374:)
It work pretty much as I expected, but the operator still has lot to learn:rolleyes: I will make a video of it later. http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps371af490.jpg |
Re: CAT 374D L
Nice work Ari. Do you plan to make any other buckets or a ripper?

Re: CAT 374D L
Looks good Ari ..That looks as though its pretty packed earth you were digging in ..A good test ...im sure it could well compete with the bigger fumotech models ..And just in time for the warmer weather ..Are you almost ready to tear it down and give it a coat of paint ?

The ground was quite hard packed. That's my parents yard i'm digging, and my dad told me that that spot has not been touched in 20 years. There's still work to do with the cab, I'm about to purchase a tig welder to get that done. So here's the video I promise, as many of you have noticed:) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBerCOj14-w |
Re: CAT 374D L
Whooo hooo! TIG!!!!
How wide is your bucket Ari? Looks like it digs very well as expected! |
Re: CAT 374D L
That's great! Looks like it's time to install a new water line, phone line, or sprinkler system now that the hand shovel is obsolete :D

Re: CAT 374D L
Very nice Ari! Seeing you add finishing touches like that makes me wish I had done more detail work on my Volvo. I'm always afraid that stuff like that will get damaged while carrying it around. I guess it won't get hurt while it's just sitting on the shelf beside your grader...:p Haha, sorry that was a Joe comment:rolleyes:.Hahaha I'm not really one to talk. I have more fun building than playing....

My cylinder tubes are mostly 5/3mm. |
Re: CAT 374D L

And about those details, they really are fragile, made of 2mm brass rod they bend quite easy:mad: The carrying it is the most dangerous moment for the details, it's so heavy you have to keep it close to your body and everything that sticks out might get damaged:mad: |
Re: CAT 374D L
I think I would enjoy playing with my models if someone else was around to join in the fun. I don't really live near anybody that's into this so it's always just me by myself and I get bored really quickly. When I'm in the shop though I want to be left alone so that I can concentrate! My Volvo fits in the trunk of my car but you have to tip it over quite a bit to get it through the opening. If it had detail like yours it would most certainly get wrecked. I have too many big models to move now though so I guess I will be using the pickup truck from now on. Lots of room there but wide open to the elements and burns fuel like it's going out of style!

Re: CAT 374D L
I started painting the 374:) The counter weight got color first.
I still have the cab unfinished, I need to purchase a tig welder for that soon. http://i327.photobucket.com/albums/k...ps79dc7d6f.jpg |
Re: CAT 374D L
Whoa! I likey! When is that TIG arriving Ari?

Re: CAT 374D L
Hey Ari congrats on your Build of the month win ..Definatley well deserved..Are you priming the aluminum before paint and if so what primer do you use.. By the way what you have done so far looks great..I would be nice to see a photo of this machine next to your grader for a size comparison .
