Pete with Style

Its always a good day when the fedex or ups truck pulls up. Heres a new addition to my fleet. Its one that Stylin rebuilt a while back. I was lucky enough to get it this time around. I need to put a mfu in it and a few more add ons. Here are a few pics. http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/...ps93e8049a.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/...psfa3ffb43.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/...psaf76dba4.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/...psd1acf21e.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/...ps424f6f92.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/...pse9d7690d.jpg

Looking great, it just makes me wonder why tamiya can't build a truck that looks like that.

Thanks. Tamiya goes more towards the Euro style truck. They just came out with the new Benz.

Thanks. I'm really liking it to. Trying to decide what trailer to pull. Maybe a bull hauler or reefer box trailer.

Fred, glad to see you ended up with this one. It will be interesting to see what you do with it. I would go for the Bull hauler.

Thanks Keith. I think your right with the bull hauler. At first I wanted to paint the frame to match the cab. But the more I look at it I'm thinking about keeping it black.

Sounds cool. But a big under taking. Still have a lot of projects to get done. Could add a lift axle and front super singles and make it a heavy haul.

Very, very nice! John sure knows how to build'em! Looks like you just need to get the rear fenders mounted. I can see the posts for them. Did you put a little tire dressing on the tires? Even those shine!

Thanks. That's the way I pulled it out of the box. Them tires do shine. I didn't get the fenders with it. I guess they were broke. Keith has some paint that he is sending so I can make a new set.
Keith thanks again for offering the paint. It's people like you that make this forum so great.

I'm a huge fan of this truck it looks great in pics but even better in person. I say you go with a nice reefer with a spread axel set up, possibly stainless sides, but the trailer and reefer needs to be paint matched to the tractor. I would love to own this bad boy, good for you ....congrats on that new beauty in your stable.

Wow Fred..... I dunno? What needs improving? I think you better post all your plans and make sure you have the " Forum .Family " seal of approval first eh? :D;). Lol

Very nice addition to the fleet man!

I would love to see it parked next to Susan's at Indy perhaps???:)

Re: Pete with Style

Reefer's are the way to go granted all you are doing is pulling a trailer you can't do anything with but they can be tricked out and made to look insane to the point where it doesn't matter as long as you get it to match your tractor and add the "BLING". Good luck with the unit can't wait to see it painted and tricked out if you are going to go that route.

Those reefers are just cool. I would like to find a used one versus buying a kit and not using half the parts. I gues I could revamp my box trailer to a spread axle and find a reefer unit [not likely] or make one.Im going to the metal shop to check on some stainless panels, and make a trip to the paint shop to match some paint.

plow jockey 03-16-2013 03:42 PM

Re: Pete with Style

Well today Travis hooked me up with a reefer trailer, Thanks again. Im going with the stainless side panels, probaly not doing a spread axle so I can run matching fenders on truck and trailer. Keeping trailer frame black so it matches the truck. Gonna paint box frame and reefer unit blue. http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3e51ab52.jpg http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/...ps979aa6d6.jpg

The panels on the trailer are the stock ones from the kit. Im getting stainless panels for it. but they wont be ribbed. Just smooth and shinny!!
