Need something to pull step deck.
Well time for a bad to the bone tractor. So lowered, stretched & whacked the sleeper. Now that I've pieced it together to get a look, almost think I should put the sleeper (shortened) back on it. Let me know what you think,& there will be two pipes.

Re: Need something to pull step deck.
Yeah, that's what I'm talking about, Fred! Day cab for sure. Who needs sleep? We'll get plenty when we are in the dirt! :D I like the large car day cab look. If you want something different in the rear, I'd suggest you do a day cab conversion kit wall in the back. Leave the headache rack off, so everyone can see it. I was going to do one myself someday, because it's different, but you can be the first! Put those styrene skills you have to work.
Here's a picture of a cab conversion kit. Plugs the opening where the sleeper used to be. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y12...ld/l185209.jpg There is a black Peterbilt 379 running around here that looks really sharp. Used to have a sleeper, but now it's a day cab. Has a kit on it, like the one above. I always see it hauling a ragged, busted up dump trailer, loaded with metal scrap. Gives me ideas for my own truck. |
Re: Need something to pull step deck.
No sleeper, and I don't care for the rack either. A rack like Steve's would be the cats a$$.

Looks good Freddy but yea heck w/sleeper and the cheesy rack :p it's up to you  IHB |
Re: Need something to pull step deck.
Fill in the back of the cab and run a flush mounted deck plate from cab to fifth wheel and add a T-light bar on the back for that largecar look.

Re: Need something to pull step deck.
Drop the sleeper and rack, Freddy. Shorten frame to match the new look with a smaller fuel tank, too.

Re: Need something to pull step deck.
Thanks guys & gales,
I don't believe it! Actually managed to get something done. Gave a wack at makin my own head lights & mounts. Finally found another use for the lights. Other than plow lights. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4348.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4351.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4345.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4350.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4347.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4346.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4344.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4343.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4342.jpg http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...mppics4341.jpg 3-4 more hrs of sanding & 2 more coats of primer.Should be ready for paint. Have like 2-3hrs in it now. Couldn't show pics before primed it. It looked like real shyt! Now Cosset,Guess you didn't see where I messed up one pipe cut job already. These are chrome plated,OOOOOH! I could make a real mess out of them. The wheels came out of my bone yard, not quite sure what they are. Yea Beans,I like the d-plate my self, not like some of the builders on this forum.:p Thanks for lookin! FGD |
