DX10T
I want one!
http://www.horizonhobby.com/ProdInfo...rand=205235501 Assignable switches, lipo battery, telemetry...INTERCHANGEABLE switch modules!:D http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...odID=SPM2800US |
Re: DX10T
Would be nice but a little pricey for me:(:( Wonder how much extra rec. cost??
|
Re: DX10T
I Want 1 Toooo BUT I need a mill control first :( :crying:

Re: DX10T
The receiver with telemetry is probably over $100 but, you can probably still use the regular 2.4 dsm receivers with it. I bought some of the $8 ar6110e clone receivers from hobby king and they seem to work fine.

Re: DX10T
Wow, and 50 model memory. Does that mean you can switch between models on the go? Or do you have to bind to each one after switching?
|
Re: DX10T
Once a rec. is bound to the transmitter, you just switch to it and away you go.
|
Re: DX10T
Thats cool. My radios are both crystals yet, not totally up on the digital stuff yet.
|
Re: DX10T
Pretty excited about the release of this radio. Shame it got pushed back a bit but I'm sure there's a good reason for it.
|
Re: DX10T
Mine is on order and can't wait to get it.

Re: DX10T
Let's start this off with a disclaimer. I used to be a Horizon Hobby employee but no longer work there. This impression is purely my opinions and I have not received any compensation for writing this.
So I've been able to fiddle around with a pre-production sample of the radio for a few days now and I can say that I'm really looking forward to getting one of these for myself. I definitely have a better understanding of programming than the average hobbyist but I think the menus and setup are all very intuitive to understand, find, and adjust. The general feel and weight of the radio is quite robust. Using the shoulder straps are a definite must with the way the sticks are situated. The switches on the modules are really nice quality and are really easy to operate by feel. This attributes to the price of the modules I'm sure. The modules also independently swivel back and forward for placement preference. I'm looking forward to receiving my Vario 850d soon to do some further testing with the radio. I plan to setup two "Flight" Modes one for drive and the other for bucket and arm movements so I can quickly flip between the two modes during operation. One thing I had overlooked on the radio specs were the ability to expand to a total of 18 channels!! I am not sure what's needed hardware-wise to achieve this but you'd need the extra rx hookups of course. More to come when I can get my hands on it again with my excavator! |

Re: DX10T
Missed the video. What happened? Spektrum didn't approve?
|
Re: DX10T
Pretty much, seems silly but I'm sure there's some reason for it.

Re: DX10T
Been dying to order this radio.... any ideas when it will be released?
It was meant to be May2011 but that slipped somewhat! |
Re: DX10T
No idea what's happening with the release. At this point it sure would be nice if they put an eta for those that have preordered and are waiting patiently.
|
Re: DX10T
My hobby shop guy inquired a month ago & was told May/June 2012.
I'm looking forward to this radio too, the DX6 & 8 that I have work awesome. |
Re: DX10T
Joe, I wonder how reliable that date is as well.. if I recall it was meant to be out late 2010, then April/May 2011 and now your date..
How long can it take to bring a radio to market! Anyway, all of that said, I still want one, if only for its model match feature, nowt worse than having to keep switching off the model when I switch between them... |
Re: DX10T
Its here...
The radio was released a few weeks ago, but I couldn't decide if i wanted one or not. But on Friday, I did the deed and ordered one. It arrived yesterday!! Like the futaba, its really easy to use. The manual is very small with only a few pages... http://i823.photobucket.com/albums/z...0/a9a26936.jpg |
Re: DX10T
what other radios do you have to compare it to?
I have a DX6 and a JR DSX9, and I am tossing up between DX10T and a DX18... or something totally different... AP |
Re: DX10T
My main radio has been the Futaba 14MZ, but I've also got an FF9 and a Graupner MC19 and a few Turnigy radios.
The Futaba 14mz is a fantastic radio, really easy to use but it lacked sliders and model match memory. They are the two reasons I changed to Spektrum and the DX10. The 10 and 18 are virtually the same price here, I guess it depends on what you want to use it for? |
Re: DX10T
It looks like a superb piece of kit, but will the tamiya mfu function with it?
|
Re: DX10T
I am looking at the 10t because of the sliders, that way I can control an excavator(when I eventually get one).
I also love the model match... hence why non-spektrum would be a real challenge. AP |

Re: DX10T
Nice looking radio, thanks for posting.
Does it feel lighter or heavier than other radios you have? It looks thinner and lighter than a regular non-tray type radio. |
Re: DX10T
It feels a lot lighter than my other futaba radios. But in fairness to futaba, the DX is built as "robust" as their radios. You can certainly feel the "plastic" in the Spektrum, not that that will make it function any worse, it just feels "lighter"
Also, being a tray radio, you will need a harness to support it. It's way to wide to hold and operate a model easily. ( but I kinda guessed that before ) so ordered a nice graupner body harness for it... don't I look special now  |
Re: DX10T
The functions such as lighting and that sort of thing are operated by using the sticks in conjunction with the trim sliders of an analogue radio, so it doesn't work so well with radios that have digital trims.

Nice looking radio, shame its out of my budget:( |

I just checked the radio, and adjusting the trims from centre to their far end points take approx 3 seconds. However you can change that in two ways.. in settings you can up the ratio that the trim button increments in. I changed it from 5 to 10 and now it can got from center to full right or left in about a second. or the really easy method... assign a mix for this function. Hope that helps |
