IH5070 Paystar 6X6 now a log truck & pup
since I get tired of tripping over bruders around here , I figured I need a wrecker :p . And as my wife likes to say ,"you just got to have the biggest "
 so here we go . scaled 14" double frame (steel outer aluminum inner ) rubber block hendrickson rear susp. 75t lathe motor , tamiya 3 speed axial trans for transfer case , and punisher shafts and carrier bearing like my 5900i hh tractor . cab : scratch built like always  opening butterfly hood and cab doors ( soon to be done ) not sure about interior . still need to fab the body and "may" make my pumps , depends on the supply side of things :( the beginning http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...starframe4.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...starframe3.jpg the rears + the beams + wheels :D http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...walkbeam24.jpg rear flex shot http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z.../paystar39.jpg the lift axle http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z.../liftaxle1.jpg the hood http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z.../paystar36.jpg trans + transfer case http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z.../paystar46.jpg motor shot http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z.../paystar45.jpg bumper http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z.../paystar44.jpg front fender http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...der/tltss2.jpg to date w/out the fuel tank http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...uilder/IH3.jpg the fuel tank (first cut on new toy (mill )) http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/fueltank.jpg I have a vid of it moving the ps433-1 but I have to get y tub fixed maybe w/new computer  thanks for looking IHSteve |

Wow! I am loving this rig. I think your wheels are stunning as well. Did you machine those yourself? Excellent craftsmanship! She will look even prettier with a coat of color I'm sure!

Re: IH5070 Paystar 6X6 70+ ton rotator
Woah that's gonna be a beast. Looks like you are right on track. I look forward to seeing this one go together, especially since you plan on getting it to function. So are you gonna do gear motors and screws or hydraulics?

Re: IH5070 Paystar 6X6 70+ ton rotator

Some side boxes, like this one might give you some more room to hide the workings?? http://brettstowinginc.com/Equipment_IK2E.php http://www.gzlongju.com/Vehicle_p.as...&ChannelID=446 |

Started on the rotator base . Not exact to the pic but this should work . The boom base will attach to the top of the gear .

Re: IH5070 Paystar 6X6 70+ ton rotator
OK guys this is no ordinary wrecker build :p trying to keep true to scale as possible . got wrecker frame made , under lift started , stabilizers started and turntable being assembled while working on wheels .
http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/PIC_0497.jpg http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/z...r/PIC_0496.jpg I think it's going to be best to use hydros on this with some screw drives thanks for looking IHSteve |
Re: IH5070 Paystar 6X6 70+ ton rotator

Re: IH5070 Paystar 6X6 70+ ton rotator
Small update . got my boom segments made up :) working on screw drives as of now . I can make a pump and cylinders no prob but the valves I'm not ready to mess with yet and to buy them will blow the reserve  beside I got a bunch already made sitting in the scrap :p . Full extension it is 16" beyond the back , a total of 32" long
