project motormaster
Well, I figured I have prime, might as well make a decepticon counterpart for him. Im laid up for a week so have been gettign some stuff done. Im basing it off a k100 aerodyne, and the full size found at www.decepticonmotormaster.com , but im also using artistic liscence and building it how i think it should be. Im stretching a globeliner frame and the sleeper, also raking back the raised portion of the sleeper slightly the make it a little more angular , and in my opinion meaner looking. I also built the grille using just the core of the stock globeliner one, once again, its my take on the cartoon, not a real k100.
here are some shots, opinions welcome! building the grille....... http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/s...3/dc070bd7.jpg http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/s...3/762897ce.jpg http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/s...3/071bf0ef.jpg http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/s...3/416bbebd.jpg http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/s...3/50afaa4c.jpg and of course my daughter is very excited and insisted she makes it into some of the pics .. http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/s...3/2b92c244.jpg |

Re: project motormaster
oh and as always, yes i know my workbench is a mess lol
|
Re: project motormaster
I like that you are putting your own twist on it I think the racked back roof and the sharper point on the grill peek fits it very well also longer frame I like that cause well I like a stretched out truck and the purple is perfect..
|
Re: project motormaster
You're making good use of your recovery week anyway. Hope you are back on your feet soon. In the meantime, great start, love the grill.
Oh, and I don't think you could actually get a more "Decepticon" purple, it's right on the money. This and Prime will make a really cool pair. |

Re: project motormaster
There are some photos floating around the web, of the 1:1 truck, and it's awesome. It will be neat to see this one come together. The purple looks right on. Your daughter reminds me of my niece. She looks happy to be hanging out with you. My niece was hanging out with me last night, while I was doing some machining in the basement. Ahh, kids. :)

Re: project motormaster
Actually it look's pretty good, and I can't see many flaws at all.;)
Can't wait to see some details on the beast.:D Big John |
Re: project motormaster
Starting to look purrrrty mean there Civic. This will definitely be another masterpiece. Can't wait to see the finished Motormaster side by side with Optimus for an Autobot V Decepticon stand off.
So, maybe jumping the gun here, but any more Transformer themed trucks revving around in your head? Is it just me or does anyone remember the heat sensitive badges on the original 80's transformer toys? You had to rub it with your thumb until heated up and either the autobot or decepticon emblem would appear and then disappear again as it cooled off. Be nice to have that on your trucks. |

I think that's a homemade replica, the proper movie truck is here: http://www.decepticonmotormaster.com |
Re: project motormaster
Ya I remember those badges they were cool! I do plan to build mixmaster ( bruder granite cement mixer) , and would love to do megatrons truck mode from the last movie. If I get into bruder conversions I can make all the members of devistator as well!
|
Re: project motormaster
wow civic you will be a busy person if you can pull that off .if we get together with yours and mine .i think people won't care about the other trucks we bring to events :p:p

Re: project motormaster
Nope g1, he was a member of the stunticons, he combined with 4 other cars to form menasaur . He was only in a handful of episodes I beleive.

Re: project motormaster
From Wikipedia:
Motormaster is depicted as a semi-trailer, similar in appearance in vehicle mode to Optimus Prime; however, unlike the Autobot leader, whose body is formed solely by the tractor unit, Motormaster's robot mode comes from the entire tractor-trailer, with the tractor unit forming his feet. Motormaster is able to reach a top speed of 140 mph in vehicle mode, while in robot mode he is armed with a cyclone gun that can produce winds of up to 400 mph. Motormaster commands his troops with fear rather than respect.[1] Motormaster, along with the rest of the Stunticons, combine into a gestalt called Menasor, of which Motormaster forms the main component. |
Re: project motormaster
Thanks for the info I didn't know that, as they say you always learn something new each day and I learned something new today thank you.

Re: project motormaster
thanks to a good friend of mine the plans for motormasters trailer are ready. It is kind of based off a "toy hauler", but without the spread axles and is designed to use stock tamiya suspension parts. it has a complete floor and the rear ramp will be motorized. doors in the "possum belly" open for battery and electronics storage. the decepticon logo on the side is cut out and will be backlit
what do you guys think? I should have the prototype in a couple weeks. http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/s.../Drawing-2.jpg http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/s.../Drawing-1.jpg http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/s.../drawing-3.jpg |
Re: project motormaster
would love to see the prototype of this civic:D
|
Re: project motormaster
cant wait to see the prototype! How are you making the cab tilt? i was thinking of doing that to mine but couldnt figure out a good way to?
|
Re: project motormaster
once i get my cab back from paint ill take some pics dabears. its kind of ghetto but works, just a bunch of brass soldered together really
|
Re: project motormaster
The trailer plans look great. A back-lit Decepticon emblem sounds awesome. I'm curious about the truck cab though. One question - no windows on the upper bunk roof?
|
Re: project motormaster
I thought long and hard about the windows, I left them out mainly because I wasn't sure how I would make "glass " to fit them.
|
Re: project motormaster
I think the trailer will look sweet behind the truck.:D But noe you'll have to build bumble bee to haul, lol.:D;)
