Re: My Mack RS700L
Is that one of the cabs from that guy in the UK, the one msMaddie just bought from? I think she bought two of those cabs actually. Definitely a great looking cab.

Re: My Mack RS700L
Hi all first i would like to thank whom ever sorted out the showing of the pic
of my mack :o Duel truck driver Its not been to bad to make the hardest bit was the roof . All the doors open and the hood lifts to 1985 kenworth It was going to be a holmes wrecker but i cant get some bits made so its going to be an old beater:cool: swagger/dabears No this is not one of those i have scatch biult everthing exept the axels. I dont know who made those other cabs but there not very acurate or even the right shape and very pricey this truck has cost me so far about £20 Thanks all for your comments it gives me a lift when some of the best truck biulders out there say your work is good:) I will endever to put up some more pics soon All the best keep on trucking |
Re: My Mack RS700L
Oh my apologies man. Well great work then, you did a fantastic job doing all of that from scratch and it does look incredibly accurate.

Re: My Mack RS700L
No need for sorrys dude its ok im just real fussy about body work . I use to restore US cars for a living so it has to be right or as close as i can get it other wise whats the point in doing it in the first place . Somwere on here there are pics of my Kenworth W900 have a look and you will see how fussy i can be lol
Dave:) P/S Thanks for the comments |

Re: My Mack RS700L
I noticed another error in my comment, it was Cosset that bought those not Maddie.
|
Re: My Mack RS700L
Thats one nice scratch built body you've done I noticed the opening doors and hood last night when I was looking at it, is it raised for the so the elbows go between the floor and the chassis rails???
Hey swagger it was the talented Miss Maddie that has the puppies not me as the only puppy I have is the yellow bruder..... |
Re: My Mack RS700L
Doh!! I should just shut up now....
|
Re: My Mack RS700L
great looking cab just amazeing to me !! another build to watch!!
|
Re: My Mack RS700L
Hi, not a bad job for a scratch biult Mack..... impresive.. I have one of the Cabs and its not a bad truck at all i love it its a very realistic cab, granted its not a perfect copy for perfectionists but a dam good look alike from the film Convoy and it is very strong as its made from fibreglass and Not styrene. which equates to value for money on the time spent making the original and them having a mold to be make and paid for.. if you can turn them cabs out for about £20 ill have 3 whenever you like

Re: My Mack RS700L
Thanks for the kind words roadie what i didnt say is how long its taken me to get this far :o So far its been just over a year and its still not any where near finished:( . Im about 90% done on the body work i still have the electrics biuld and fit :confused:as i cant strech the budget to get an MFU . Basicly all the lights will come on with one switch i am hoping to make a headache rack and fit a winch out back . I am however realy struggling with what colors to go with i was thinking of some sort of 70`s look and maybe wether it as i dont want a rubber duck truck !!! So if anyone has any pics of macks with cool paint jobs it would be most welcome im in desperate need of insperation :)
Keep on trucking Dave:cool: |

Re: My Mack RS700L
Hey Dave, what kind of hinges did you use on the doors? Did you use those nylon pins style ones like alot uses here? >Marty<
|
Re: My Mack RS700L
Hi marty no ive made my own from brass rod and strip. The windscreen frame and hinge are intergrated so that the hinge is attached to the A post of the frame and the windscreen and doors can be removed for painting . I will try to put up a pic of it for you
