I did more mods to my truck today, I ditched the futaba steering servo and replaced it with a traxxas mini servo so I could mount it under the cab.
Attachment 2361 Attachment 2362 I'v now got 2 tanks, a 3Racing Light Unit and a new radio system coming (I needed more channels for Izzy's trailer) |
Re: First build, scania R620

Looking good!!

Re: First build, scania R620
Thanks guys, i'v got styrene coming at the moment to make a box to put behind the cab.
|
Re: First build, scania R620
so I finally got all the styrene I ordered and have been making the bod for the back of my truck to store the battery for the truck and battery and controller for Izzy's trailer that is finished and almost on it's way!! :D
so heres the box, I will paint it and make it look good soon but for now this is it. http://i1274.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9273e81c.jpg |
Re: First build, scania R620
lookimg good so far I like the tanks they look great on there. how does the mini servo work? is it strong enough?
|
Re: First build, scania R620
Thanks, the tanks are from Russ, I polished them up but they seem to like finger prints. Haha
And I ended up changing that setup out for the original servo, I have the steering servo and gear servo setup like they are in the knight hauler. Even that is struggling abit, I'll see how it goes once I get a trailer on it then I might buy a high torque servo. |

heres a look at the steering and gear servo's, not the best angle but its hard to get an undercarriage shot. http://i1274.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2bdf6db2.jpg here my nice mess of wires... http://i1274.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5018a2e7.jpg ad this is what i'm putting on the deck once I get the back box all sorted out and mounted. http://i1274.photobucket.com/albums/...ps31348bc4.jpg |
Re: First build, scania R620
so I'v been abit busy today on the truck, I have put the first part of the deck plate on and made up a mount for the fifth wheel servo, it got the better of me so I pulled my slash apart again to use the servo. unfortunately the stock fifth wheel rod isn't long enough so I'v ordered a 300mm rod which will probably take a couple of weeks to get here.
here's the deck plate. http://i1274.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2ac30d57.jpg |

Re: First build, scania R620
Buzzy - the makers for servo bits make a charge plug holder - like these
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXH456&P=ML I suggest something like them and there is one for the Deans plugs too - but it is fairly new on the market ... - i founf this on a google search http://www.google.com/imgres?q=deans...5&tx=71&ty=102 |
Re: First build, scania R620
thanks izzy, but according to tracking it's already in Australia, so it would be sad if it took 4 days to get to Australia then another 5 to get to my place, so fingers crossed.
and thanks for the brackets. buzzy |
Re: First build, scania R620

Started polishing the trailer yesterday, took me about 1.5 hours to polish one side, and it still isn't a perfect polish. |
