Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
They Look nice are they going to produce more? Look like a good size also!
|
Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
Chris I just got the valve today ordered it last week. Yes you can get the pump and valves they also have quick disconnects. Ed

Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
Whats their website?

Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
That stuff looks nice. Now hurry up and put it in something so we can all see how good it works!:p

Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
Reg now there in lies the problem, I want to build a loader but that will be a while. Got a tractor and a dump trailer to do first but even before that I got to fix my cnc mill. Ed

Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
Ed, are these guys inside the USA? Any dimensions on the pump/motor/tank combo, and the valve block? Do they make any valve blocks with just one or two valves?

Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
Ed, it s funny U should post this now, Ed in Stl and I were just talking about ordering one of these this coming wk. Interesed to see how they work. I did notice they have changed thier website.
They are in Tawain. |
Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
Current: 9amp  that's not good.. that's going down the same road as the hk version.
What's the diameter & width of the gears Ed? Maybe we can guesstimate what the flow might be? |
Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
It could be 9A max  the description is a little vague I didn't get 1 yet but I will and try it in the TD40B as the 2 other Jungs I got are slated for the twins .

9 amps does sound pretty power hungry, but say you have a 5,000 mili-amp battery pack, it would provide roughly 30 mins of continuous operation. That's not horrible, is it? On a model like an excavator, where you are mostly just running the pump, and the spin motor, 30 mins doesn't sound to bad. On a wheel loader, where the pump could be dialed back to an idle between bucket cycles, with some channel mixing, runtime would still be around 15 to 20 mins, I'd guess, since the drivetrain motors would be consuming power as well. What sort of run time do you guys get with your models right now? Joe, weren't you getting 40-45 mins on your Vario? |
Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
On my 990 I get any where between 35-45 min depending how hard I work it . thats with a 4500 Mah 11.1 lipo with the jung setup . I never ran a amp test yet .
|
Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
Thanks Steve. I guess I'd be really curious to know what kind of current the typical hydraulic pumps pull. 9 does sound high, but like you said, maybe that's the max rating, and it draws less then that.

Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
I was pulling 5amps on a 20 turn motor with the leim pump... so sure, its possible! going to a 45t torquemaster cut it to 1200mah every 15 minutes (havent amp measured that yet). soo...over an hour on my battery. my servos suck quite a bit of juice as well.
20bars at 7v. interesting! that will allow you to run about 8000mah 2s in the same space as a 6000 3s. |
Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
Joe if you are unhappy with the motor just change it as you can see there is a coupler between the motor and the pump. The pump turns sort of hard witch tells me it the tolerances are tight the gears are a lot big compared to wedico and other german pumps except Jung I put the pump back together so no measurements of the gears right now. Nathan they are in Taiwan and they make a single valve for there landing gear a 3 and 6 valve. In case anyone wants to know they ship quick I ordered on the 19 of March and got it yesterday came EMS. I like the valve body it comes with servo and has nut fittings so you can use a wrench to tighten the lines. They also have quick couplers with shutoff on both sides. Ed

Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
5amp 4s lipo, easy digging 50+, hard digging 40 or so.
Ed, does it give any specs on that sticker on the motor? Does it have the press relief valve built into the pump? What was the cost of each component? What is EMS for delivery? |

9amps would be ok though if it has 4 times the power of a liembach pump. It would just be overkill for smaller hydraulic machines. Always nice to see more rc hydraulic components become available. Thanks for posting pics Ed. |

Now I know thats still a little much but I'm going to give it a try on a 5mAh lipo and set the pump only to engage with the servo throw so I can save batteries and also hopefully keep everything running cooler. I'll keep people updated with what I find out as well. Ed hope to see some projects coming along with that setup. :D Tyler |
Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
The case says DC 7.2 Volts 1500 RPM and the advertised pressure is 298.78 the gears are 3/8 inches in diameter and 7/16 inches tall and no relief valve. the drive gear has an O ring on the shaft on it and it is recessed in the case. the pick up is a hose connector with out the nut on it opening that up would help. I would say a bigger motor with more RPM and larger pick up and the pressure would go up. Ed

Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
Well I received my pump and valve block today and I can't wait to try them out but unfortunately I will be waiting a little longer before I can use them as I received a broken valve block today. :(
I was so excited when I got the package today it was in great shape so I opened it up to find lots of bubble wrap inside. I pulled out the pump first and opened it up. All great and dandy with no problems. Started opening the valve wrapped in bubble wrap as well and all of a sudden out came a fitting, then another and all of a sudden I was shocked to see that they were not extras like I had hoped but two ports from the center of the valve block itself. I have no idea how they could have broken in shipping as there was no damage to anything else inside the box or to the box but there they lay broken completely off clean at the block. I sent the company an email this evening and I will be waiting for a reply but I have no doubts as they are really great to communicate with and are willing to take care of anything I have needed so far. I'm not saying anything was their fault or the postal service just an unfortunate event that happens every now and then. Here are some pics if anybody is interested in some close ups of the valve block (granted this one is broken) but gives an idea of what they look like. The machine work is very nice as well and I was amazed that it came with metal geared servos already installed. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...psa31cceb9.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...ps5a991f67.jpg And as you can see the package it came in is in near perfect condition. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...ps32a0a33f.jpg I will keep everyone updated as how well this is taken care of. :D Tyler |
Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
Tyler , that's an easy fix you just need new fittings and an easy out . looks like a over tightening of brass fittings issue .

Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
No relief valve... that's probably why the 9amp current rating, that's when the oil flow stops & circles around the gears, producing the 20bar maximum.
Not difficult to make a prv or Fumotec/Vario have a nice tiny one already to go. Gears are quite thick & tall, much like the Jung, the pump could very well be in the 1L class, depending on the rpm of the motor. What's the servo make & model that's in there now? I look forward to your experiment findings Ed & Tyler. :) |
Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
Joe it says they were made in Taiwan and a CE on them. Ed

Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
I don't much care for those type fittins, can those be changed out to the Leimbach-type fittins.....or are they necessary for the pressure?
Aslo, what are the dimensions......it looks kinda big for my idea of putting one in a diecast tractor |
Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
its new why should he have to go get parts.
let the company do it. he paid good money for a new part. being the broken parts were wrapped, i bet they over tighten it and just shipped it any way. |
Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
Rob those fittings are great, you can tighten them with a wrench and not a pair of pliers. They are not necessary for pressure. The valve body is 1 3x4 x 1 3/4 x 2 1/4 and 2 5/8 with the servo approximately. The only problem you might have is the thread size if you change the fittings, I don't know. Ed

Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
Ed , do they give you some setup directions with the valves ? I'm curious if they come precentered

I also received an email from the company late last night apologizing for the damages and that they would send me out a complete new valve assembly today. The are sending a return postage with the other valve as well so no extra costs are on me. I'm sure they will have it here in the week or so as the other parts came in about that time. I will keep everyone updated as time goes but this company and its customer service is absolutely top notch so far. :D Tyler |

Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
I just saw a schematic on Morpower site and they said you could use a 9.6 to 12 volt battery or 11.1 Lipo but for best use 9.6 battery. There system is a closed system you hook up the pump the valve fill the pump and system and run and fill again. Ed

Ed, any new info on the testing of this system.....power, pump-run duration before over heating, pressure, etc?
Thanks |
Re: MORPOWER pump & valve
I have no news Rob it just sets in a box. Ed
